The Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Hotel
Lovely meal and would highly recommend.
Fabulous restaurant with impeccable service. Special occasion.
A fixed price menu at €95 a head. The overwhelming feeling was " get the table turned over asap". Service was far too quick and absolutely not conducive to a fine dining experience at that price level
Fabulous game tasting menu with matching wines - a real treat for a special occasion.
Wonderful location for a special occasion.
There is a very bland atmosphere in this restaurant, luckily the food was not so bland, but the choices are not great, so we cancelled for the second night of our stay! The sommelier poured wine for us and managed not to utter one word!! Indeed the hotel need to take heed, such a shame, we decided not to breakfast there, instead we found a Friendly cafe!!
Food was excellent, ambiance perfect, service was above expectations. We would highly recommend and will return. Our only drawback was when our meal was over we had to leave the hotel as all the lounges were extremely full but then it was a Saturday evening. Full Mark's to the Shelbourne
Fabulous Food, Attentive and Friendly Staff, Gorgeous Restaurant, Perfect Ambiance for a moment of Calm
Lovely food, fantastic atmosphere, not too noisy. Reasonable priced set lunch at €30 but the extras are over priced including my first ever €6 cup of coffee!
A lovely and memorable evening. Food and wine recommendations were excellent and the chicken was the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to return. Thank you!
The Saddle Room restaurant was an unique experience from start to finish. Excellent.
Had a very enjoyable evening on Saturday. Thank you the wonderful staff and to the kitchen for a really delicious meal!
I would highly recommend the saddle room.A small group of of old friends met for lunch; food, service, ambience and prices were excellent. I look forward to returning to the Saddle room
Excellent food in a lovely warm setting. Service lacked slightly in some areas but this did not take away from the fabulous food.
We are very disappointed with the Saddle Room dining experience. Our table was in the middle of a thoroughfare - all tables being accessed by servers by passing our table. Waiters displayed poor training - leaning in front of our guests to serve us, standing in one spot to take our food order and causing us to repeat our order, water served to three people ignoring the fourth. Waiters standing talking in groups and not paying attention to guests.
Our experience at the Saddle room on Friday 15 November 2019 fell far short of our expectations and did not live up to the promise offered by the Sherborne promotional material.
We will be back
Lovely meal celebrating with family. Good value...pre-theatre meal...€32 for 2 courses or €37 for 3 courses...I was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff and had a lovely table in a little nook.
Excellent food and service..little pricey but worth it for a treat.
Had the most wonderful lunch to celebrate my sons graduation from college. From start to finish the meal was fabulous . The staff are excellent. Nothing was to much trouble.
We were extremely impressed with this restaurant. The highlight is the quality of the food preparation. We indulged in salmon tartare, scallops and centre cut filets. Their farm to table offering was delicious... so much so, we need to return. Yes, you can get a filet anywhere, but this was different... the flavours... unique. And yes, the Irish know their potatoes. Delicious. Highly recommend. Our server was welcoming and add to having an enjoyable evening.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, amazing service. Deco and surrounding furniture is simply a pleasure to look at. Toilet spotless
Great hotel, great restaurant! Fantastic job!
Most enjoyable lunch. Very relaxed and unhurried . Food of a high quality and standard. Excellent service. Thank you.
The staff at the Saddle Room were thoughtful in the way they explained the different items on the menu and also in the way they ensured all our needs were met,for example topping up water and wine and making sure we had enough bread and sides. The taste and quality of the food was amazing- freshly sourced oysters and salmon and fish. The ox cheeks were melt in your mouth tasty and chicken moist and flavours sealed in. Wine menu quality and variety had choices for every pocket. Deserts were of amazing standard- the creme brulee was bursting with flavour while the meringue were exquisitely flavoured with ginger that complimented the apples. As it was my son's Graduation the staff threw in a small plate of mini deserts- mini lemon meringue, tart and blackcurrant jelly - such a lovely, delicious gesture. It was already a memorable day because of my son's graduation but the Saddle Room made it an unforgettable event.
Everything was wonderful and we we definitely return
Fabulous experience with excellent attention from
All staff particularly Ali who was just lovely.
The food as always was fantastic and great value for money. The wine New Zealand Sauvignon Blanca was beautiful. Absolutely nothing I could fault and the shelbourne as always never fails to impress as it did a year ago for our wedding
Never let down by the Saddle room, consistently excellent
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here on Friday. We were married here which made it a very special occasion. As with our wedding day, the whole experience was simply wonderful. Here's hoping we shall return in the near future..
This was our first time to visit The Saddle Room. Everything from the service to food to the setting was 100%. Would highly recommend it.
Excellent food wine and ambiance
Beautiful lunch, worth travelling 115 miles for! Shelbourne always delivers with attention to detail all round
The meal was just perfect. There was a great choice on the menu, including my favourite desert - Bread and Butter pudding, which was delicious.
It is a perfect way to spend a Sunday lunch. It is also fantastic value for money.
Initially placed at a table with nobody around us, felt like being in a corridor. We asked to move closer to others for some atmosphere and we were moved to a new table which was much better.
Food was nice, but very expensive vs. other restaurants.
Overall the decor including the toilets were quite dated.
It felt like a hotel restaurant but charges 2* Michelin prices.
The service was amazing it was my first time there and really enjoyed ourselves
Service very poor. Very slow & inconsistent: Too long a wait between starters & main courses. Mains courses for the 2 male diners came first & we had to wait several minutes for the ladies food. One of the men ordered mash with his steak & this did not come until he had eaten approx 50% of his meal.
We did not have desert or coffee as service was so slow.
Also monkfish was on menu but was not available & no other alternative in its place.
The couple at the table beside us also had problems with service & we could hear them complaining .
Service was excellent we had a lovely bubbly waitress.
They do 3 courses for €50 with sides extra which is great value.
Little disappointed that as part of my booking I requested a happy birthday dessert message and it never happened.
Great place for quiet elegant dinner
Been eating in the Saddle Room regularly since the 80s - completely different place now but wonderful place to enjoy a good meal and great service with some good company- a must for a wonderful experience
