The Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Hotel
We went to the Saddle Room for a celebration and it didn't dissapoint. The food was excellent and the service was discreet. Even the children's menu was varied and healthy.
It is obviously not cheap however it is good value for the food and atmosphere.
We will definitely return.
Lovely table at the end of the room, very attentive staff and good food.
We all ordered beef. The matire D came out to explain there would be an unforeseen delay of about twenty minutes but could he offer us a small plate in the interim. He returned with four helpings of fois gras. It was delicious and the gesture much appreciated
The saddle room rest is what it is 5 star we thouroughly enjoyed our meal couldn’t fault anything
discreet excellent service, quiet comfortable and lovely surroundings and an excellent vegitarian meal - full marks to the Saddle Room!
Food quality was fine but the service was very poor. Our waiter was friendly but untrained. He didn’t know how to time his interruptions, pour wine, or do basic service that you’d expect in a restaurant of this price range (with wine the meal was €275). The wine steward actually yelped out loud and physically corrected him at a nearby table when he began to use the decanter backwards (!). There is no reason or excuse for untrained staff in an expensive restaurant. The service was bad enough to distract and impair the meal.
Booked here for my family for my graduation day, a recommendation from people I work with. Was not disappointed, service was excelent and the food was top quality, will definitely be back
It was a lovely Father's day present to our dad. Thanks.
Food always excellent, one of my favourite restaurant, price is good in a 5 star hotel, 3 course meal €50， it was my friend’s Bday, he got a Bday dessert for free, only one things, nobody refills the water for us, they should look after the guest more.
It’s my go to for any occasion. Food and service excellent as always. The lamb was particularly good.
The best Restaurant in Dublin !!!! A slice of heaven on a plate. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave it’s 5 Star all the way. The welcome, the ambience, the menu choice, the food, the service, the value ........
Found everything A1 staff very nice indeed, as l had young people with me maybe a chicken or beef dish could be included in the menu choice, (lunch) as the lamb and fish would not have been their first choice.....
Hadn’t been at the Shelbourne since it’s latest revamp - wonderments location and agreeable service for a quiet lunch. Went there twice this week and looking forward for my next visit. Highly recommend it
Very elegant rooms - lovely atmosphere - wonderful staff. Great Sunday Lunch!
Really enjoyed Sunday lunch here. Will be back. Wine, food and service was excellent!
The service was amazing and the food was incredible. Well worth the visit.
Always excellent. Discreet considerate service. Excellent food
We enjoyed our visit but would comment on the ridiculous charge for water. We only heard customers asking for Tap water after we had been served. It wasn't offered to us. The waitress just asked " still or Sparkling water" If we had know it was over €8 for a bottle of still water we would not have ordered it.
This is on point of principle. It doesn't matter how good a hotel is, this cost for water is extortionate.
Had a beautiful meal last Sunday to celebrate our anniversary with family. Everyone thought the food, service, ambiance was excellent so much so that we have booked it for another family occasion again. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Loveky long leisurely lunch , in a booth. Have eaten in the saddle room many times and never disappointed
My guests & I had a great time. Everything was excellent from the service to the food & wine!
Fantastic lunch, cant wait to return. A special place
Soup and Ham-hock starters delicious. Dover Sole off-the-bone had a lot of bones left in, this was mentioned to the maître-d when he enquired how everything was but he did nothing about it. Found the lamb shoulder portion with shallot and carrot puree to be very small.
Our server, Dagmara, we found to be excellent.
Overall considering we spent over €600 between the bar and restaurant we found it to be quiet expensive, especially since the diner who had the Sole hardly eat any of her main course.
Great experience. Outstanding seafood options.
excellence service as always............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. ....
We had a lovely evening and would highly recommend it.
Food is fantastic and everyone was so nice. Make sure you have a reservation.
Fabulous faultless experience every staff member from reception to servers to managment wonderful ...it has been a long time since we enjoyed something so much
EXCELLENT VALUE FOR LUNCH IN LOVELY SURROUNDINGS HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Lovely experience. Great food and excellent service. Would highly recommend
Good high end hotel food.
But a few flaws:
Tables for two are too small for two at dinner.
One of six sea scallops in an otherwise wonderful appetizer was over cooked and tough
Servers seemed to struggle to take care of everyone at the natural pace of the dinner
Despite flaws - Perfect for us as jet lagged travelers on our first night in Dublin.
The food was very good. However, the server was incredibly rude. This was my second time going to this restaurant, and I unfortunately had the same poor service. The rest of the staff were very friendly as was management. The ambience was fine except the fire alarm went off twice during the dinner.
We pre-ordered beef wellington for a birthday celebration, one with a mushroom allergy confirmed in email and over the phone. The first with no mushroom came out slightly over cooked and plated up with cep purée which mean one guest couldn’t eat. Other had raw pastry. Starters were lacklustre and with a disappointing main course led to an unhappy birthday girl who was looking forward to coming to her favourite place for a treat. Not great first impressions for the rest of the party who all work in the hotel industry.
It was a perfect location for a quiet catch up with business colleagues. The food was superb and the service excellent. All in all, a very pleasant evening.
I've dined in the Saddle Room twice. The food was perfectly prepared and served. One evening I has sea bream and the next evening a beef entree. Both were outstanding. The service was impeccable.
Brilliant dinner and wonderful experience. We got the special theatre set menu. Lamb was excellent and our waitress was exceptional
My wife and I had the 3 course Market Menu. Everything was wonderful. The little “extras” from the chef between the courses was excellent. Less expensive than other comparable restaurants we have dines at recently. Overall a great experience.
We had a beautiful lunch here on Sunday. Food was really good and staff all very friendly and helpful
Food + service great. Room on dreary side . Prices expensive but worth it !
The food was really good would go back with friends for sure.
Beautiful food and surroundings. Staff were very attentive except for a little bit of a wait to get the bill.
On arrival we were asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, it was our anniversary so we shared that and we received a nice plate with happy anniversary on it in chocolate and some lovely artisan sweets which was a nice touch.
We actually received the same again a few minutes later, we informed the waiter that we had already received one but he cheerfully said to fire away and eat the second one.
So all in all a lovely experience and we would certainly go back again.
