The Saddle Room has been awarded 'Best Hotel Restaurant in Dublin 2017' at the Irish Restaurant Awards.
Named after The Shelbourne’s historic dining rooms, The Saddle Room Restaurant is an old favourite reinvented as a Dublin steakhouse and seafood restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Open Kitchen, the interaction from The Oyster Bar, the tantalizing taste of great food and the smooth touch of leather banquettes. A casual but sophisticated design, modern menu and savvy service create an atmosphere that is comfortable, cozy, fun and appeals to everyone.
Offering a contemporary menu created by our executive head chef Garry Hughes, using only the finest Irish ingredients.
We are also the ideal place for an Exclusive Private Dining Venue Dublin. The Saddle Room Restaurant has two private dining rooms, available for private hire for lunch or dinner, both with their own unique style and decor making both the perfect place to celebrate any occasion.

Food was excellent and service was very professional and good. Overall the experience was pleasant but the proximity of the seating meant it got quite noisy the busier it got.

Very busy place with lots of groups dining and having fun. Wait staff are always bustling about. Not for quite intimate dining. Good pre-theatre dining. Expensive.

I Am 49 years old and born and reared in Dublin and it was my first time to visit the wonderful Shelbourne Hotel. (EMBARRASSED) My wife Carolanne stayed over night last year for her sisters 50th birthday and never stopped going on about it, so I decided to bring Carolanne out for a few drinks and a meal to The Shelbourne Hotel. And it did not disappoint, it was a joy. From the staff to the food, from the service to the atmosphere and of course the Building. Everything was spot on. Thank you.

Surprising for a hotel restaurant, the Saddle Room offers an authentic traditional dining experience with a contemporary touch in a quiet setting and an extremely friendly, competent and flexible service. The wine list is impressive and the Coravin service has impressive offerings by the glass.

I would like to thank everyone for giving me such a lovely time when I went for lunch. My Son gave me the voucher for my Birthday. The food was excellent and the Staff were very attentive. It was a lovely surprise when they brought me cakes and candle with Happy Birthday on the plate. I can't wait to take my friends for lunch soon.

My wife and I decided to spend a night out of the pubs in Dublin and have a nice meal. We have always admired the Shelbourne while walking along St. Stephen's Green and thought the Saddle Room was worth a try.

The service was top-notch and super friendly. The wine list was extensive without being overbearing. The steak was good but not top-tier if steakhouses are your thing.

I would definitely go again the next time I'm in Dublin.

After 4 nites at the Shelbourne, this was our Last Hurrah - and The Saddle Room met every exception - and then some!

The service was first-rate, and our meals provided my wife and I with one of the "best-ever" Pork Belly
meals that we have encountered. The Pork Belly was exquisite, firm, non-fatty and perfectly prepared.

I can't say enough about it's texture and taste - it was perfectly prepared - and it easily matched or surpassed anything I have had in the past - whether it had been in Bendigo, Victoria - or in the southern
island of New Zealand. It even fared well against a Pork Belly I had years ago, also in Dublin.

Please note that over the years, I keep score on this particular meal - and rate accordingly . The Saddle
Room far exceeds run-of-the-mill Pork Belly recipes, deservedly so.

The chef and his staff deserve kudos!

Good ambience, nice atmosphere, food acceptable, but service was sloppy. We were no ready to order immediately after sitting down and the had to ask for our orders to be taken. Nobody available to ask for the bill, had to find someone.

Disappointed with lack of roast beef dish in main menu. Bar menu had burger and that was it.
I would go to Bar 27 next time where there are very good staff and there is better atmosphere.

Gorgeous meal couldn't fault that. Slight issue with the bill, I didn't realise water was 8 euro a bottle. I understand 5 star service and that was amazing but 8 euro for a bottle of water and we had 2 was ridiculous. Other than that delighted with the service.

Had a lovely lunch only to be let down by poor customer service. The food was very good and the staff were attentive. A lovely setting by the window to watch the world go by.

Unfortunately I was left disappointed after having a drink in the No. 27 Bar . I noticed on my credit card two days later that I had been charged twice for my drink. When I spoke with the bar manager I was told the it was not the Shelbourne' s policy to issue a refund without a receipt. When I contacted my bank I was able to prove that there were two transactions when I only authorised one. Eventually the money was refunded one week later.

I felt that I was not listened too by the bar manager who kept referring to the hotel policy of not issuing refunds without a receipt. All I was asking for was the the matter to be looked into. It was not until I got my bank involved that the issue was resolved which is a pity considering the hotel prides itself on a high standard of customer service.

Booked this for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, they did not acknowledge this at all - disappointed in that, no fuss made. Food was good though and our waiter was extremely friendly and nice.

If choosing for a special occasion don't expect it to be acknowledged

The food was fabulous, super service and overall we were all glad we went for my husbands birthday. We avoided this restaurant for a while as in December last year we had a bad experience but they certainly made up for it this time and we were delighted. Super place for a special occasion!

It was our son’s graduation so we followed family tradition of celebrating in the Saddle Room. Lovely experience and the special congratulations plate was a nice touch. Only slight negative comment is about the choice of dishes on the lunch menu. On a sunny day in very early September is ox cheek suitable? Would have thought it was more a depths if winter dish. Chicken, plaice and belly of pork a bit predictable also. All very tasty though those who had the ox cheek probably wouldn’t choose it again. Service and ambiance as good as you would expect.

Went here for my graduation dinner. We had the pre theatre menu. Fantastic meal- genuinely really, really delicious food. The lamb was absolutely devine. Cocktails were gorgeous as well and a really decent size. Service was fantastic and food was served promptly which we appreciated. €35 for three courses which was amazing value. Party of 6 and every single one of us were extremely impressed and would go back. My Nana is not always easily impressed but she was singing The Saddle Room’s praises and even said she wants to go back every weekend!

If I am honest I was a bit disappointed with the food against the cost of it. The seafood platter was not very good, the selection was poor, we did not enjoy the Oysters or the Prawns, the lobster was a little overcooked. Hard to say exactly why, but I have had a lot better in other places in the past. Service and ambience were very good, but I just felt it was a bit disappointing on the food side of things.
