Decent value roast, busy venue, friendly staff. Avoid dessert and be aware their prices on the website are not updated so expect to pay more than what’s quoted there.
Great service! They were very accomodating when for our reserved table of five 12 people showed up (on a Friday night!). Thank you!
A big thank you to the Scolt Head for looking after a gang from the sticks so well on Friday night. We had a great time.
Best roast around, favourite place to go on a Sunday
The pub is very nice and the roast dinner we had was good, with lovely vegetables, but the beef was quite tough. The pub allows dogs, which is fine, but there was one dog that kept coming under our table because the owner did not keep it under control and I think the pub should have told the owner to put the dog on a lead. I would not go again.
Yes |I would because I like the Scolt Head, but first the toilets need attending to. One cubicle had no light, the other had a broken lock. The floor needs a proper cleaning; I could hear my shoes sticking to it.
Noise level - energetic?! We couldn't hear each other.
The louder the voices, the more people are enjoying themselves - without regard for others in the room. That's what people think, and it's hard to know what can be done about manners. But the acoustic in the dining area is unsympathetic. I won't book a Friday lunch again.
The long table next to ours was moved back against the wall and the chairs rearranged, after our lunch had started. Conversation was impossible. It was an unprofessional thing to do, should have been carried out well before service.
Lovely venue for Xmas eve meal. Salmon cooked perfectly. Defo recommend.
Loved everything. Good food, good prices, lovely atmosphere.
The food was amazing - pretty sure we could all have had lunch ten times over if we'd been given the chance. The waitresses and bar staff were extremely attentive and our drinks were refilled quickly (always good when it comes to Christmas party!)
Lovely old boozer with plenty of charm and a great dinner menu offering.
We visited for an anniversary dinner and although the venue didn't know, they gave us a quiet little table with a candle and it was perfect! Food was amazing, the rib eye was perfectly cooked and the burger was delicious! Customer service was great: friendly and attentive but not pushy.
Simple menu great food and NOT a rip off
Great service with everyone polite and friendly and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Evan the espresso was good
Really delicious food! Smashing veggie burger and good atmosphere.
Hadn`t been for quite a while , nice drink in garden which was busy for a Monday then good meal , quiet in dining area but was start of the week. Friendly staff nice atmosphere will go more often!
The food was delicious and the waitress is one of the friendliest in London. I’m definitely coming back.
Nice food, nice staff
Always a hit. Great pub with lively atmosphere. Outdoor seating available. Food is outstanding
A modern pub with a good range of classic and newer dishes. Highly recommended for a Sunday lunch. Ample space and big screens to watch sports. Good range of beers and ciders on draught. Dining service is polite and friendly.
Great roasts and beer on tap. This is one of many visits and would come back again!
We booked our table for 6.30 on a Saturday, not realising there would be football on and the pub would be packed, although the dining area was empty. This of course impacted on the atmosphere somewhat as we were expecting more of a sedate neighbourhood gastropub where we could have a quietish meal. The dining room filled up after the football finished and people started eating. Food was perfectly fine pub grub – the chicken pie looked pleasingly homemade and was tasty and a smoked mackerel starter was a decent-sized portion and seemed very good quality. We had a nice evening, the staff were pleasant despite getting very busy later, and there was no pressure to vacate our table.
Roasts are outstanding. The staff are attentive. Advise to book a table.
Cracking Sunday roast, the meal is always well balanced and excellent value.
Great pub food and friendly efficient service. Child friendly
Excellent as always
I live locally and don’t know why I have never been for a Sunday roast before! This pub is a neighbourhood gem. The decor is authentic but it’s a great place for some really tasty comfort food, impeccable service and great value for money. The terrine starter was probably the best I’ve ever had and the Sunday roast had a sublime melt in the mouth taste - I would have preferred my beef pinker but appreciate this doesn’t appeal to all but it still didn’t disappoint. The sticky toffee was a little burnt and would have tested better with custard - but you can’t have everything. Oh and the wine menu is really good value for London!
Always a great spot for Sunday lunch. Good vibes, pleasant staff. One of the best pubs in the area.
My Parents were visiting, good venue
Great pub, lovely decor, and fantastic value food.
A lovely little local pub with great indoor and outdoor seating. Food was lovely and the service was very good. Would recommend.
The Scolt Head is everything you'd want in a pub - fun and lively without being too noisy, friendly service, delicious food and just an all-round winner. New favourite pub.
Kind staff. Food was very good. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy. A great spot for a friends' get together.
Food and ambiance was great and service was very friendly but a little too slow and had to cancel dessert order. Would recommend and will be back but have plenty of time.
Favourite local pub. I’m there once a week at least. Staff is super friendly and the general vibe of the pub is great.
Nice vegan options 👌🏼
Nice place. Good Sunday afternoon.
christ! I said something nice and thats not good enugh for you ay
Im not writing any more as Im not a critic, write your own stuff for goodness sake!
We've been eating at this pub probably every 2 months for 3 or 4 years. The food is always very good, apart from a veggie burger which (not surprisingly) was less than perfect. The beers are excellent, prices reasonable and the staff always make us welcome. Perfection in a local pub.
Excellent atmoshere, marvellous staff, amazing food
Nice food and service, pub bit loud, had to shout a bit to e heard, but there was football on.
Casual atmosphere, great service from laid back chaps, very decent food in a good old pub. Yeah.
The burger and fench fries that i had were excellent as was the veggie burger that my wife had. Vegetarian curry was described by our companion as very tasty. Chilli con carne was lovely. Good selection of cheese and tasy sticky toffèe pudding to finish. All reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient.Very goodvalue for money. Would definately recommend
