Visiting and was looking for a nice meal out and intrigued to try a Wolfgang Puck restaurant that wasn’t in an airport. We were very excited to have Peking Duck again too. It did not disappoint, the Japanese steamed buns definitely beat the usual Chinese pancakes served with it. Stir fry course could have used more Bok choy. Enjoyed the atmosphere, but there wasn’t much about our experience that would encourage us to return, even if we lived in DC.
Umbiance is very nice. Hostess staff were very pleasant and super accommodating. The duck for two was amazing!! The food overall was ok but overpriced. Our waiter Sean provided excellent service!
Dining alone, fairly nice inside, but no view. Food was good but a bit pricy. The Shrimp fried rice was tasteless and had ruby chunks of a root in it (Jerusalem artichoke?). I did not eat it, but they credited the cost. The lobster potstickers were very good and the halibut cooked perfectly. I ordered the Rose’ wine which was very good, but the Sangiovese was thin and bitter.
Service was excellent. Overall a good experience.
The food is amazing, atmosphere comfy and the service was goo, although we felt like a few things took a long time.
I’ve been there before but they have upped their game! Superb!
I have eaten at other Wolfgang Puck establishments. The Source did not disappoint. The menu has a major Asian influence. The restaurant offers about 5 different dumpling appetizers. We ordered the shrimp and carrot dumplings and the pork and cabbage dumpling, which were tremendous. For dinner, my son and I shared the whole duck, which was perhaps the best duck we ever had. Don't miss this gem in downtown DC.
Trendy, chic restaurant with a nice vibe and very good food. Went there for lunch. Pretty laid back, good service, sophisticated and tasty dishes. Would recommend!
I went to celebrate my 25th birthday at The Source with some friends - we RAVED about the experience when we left. Food and drinks were impeccable, and the service was outstanding. They even had "Happy Birthday" printed on our menus, and they were sure to accommodate my vegan preferences. Awesome experience, I'll definitely go back!
We really enjoyed ourselves! Great atmosphere The Source by Wolfgang Puck!
This is a wonderful restaurant. My fiancée went on our second date here, we became engaged here, and most recently celebrated my (future) mother-in-law’s birthday here. The restaurant had a record of the table where my fiancée and I were seated when we became engaged, we were then seated at the same table when returning for the birthday celebration, the waiter (Jorge) was the same waiter we had months earlier and remembered us, and the restaurant prepared a special menu that had “Happy Birthday” printed at the top. And the menu is spectacular (especially the Whole Roasted Duckling for two). The interior of the restaurant is also elegant but contemporary. Incredible.
Excellent dinner in a very pleasant space that was quiet but lively. I will return for sure.
Great experience. Food was DELICIOUS. It is SMALL PLATES for brunch (Saturdays) but the pace at which they bring the food is casual so you do get full. The service is always excellent.
outstanding restaurant with a creative asian-themed menu that is well worth a visit. I can't wait to return ....
Service was top notch, food was ok, bread was excellent but ambiance is lacking. It doesn’t feel cozy or inviting and it should. This was my first time but I don’t think I would return.
Food was subpar. Not as good as it used to be.
For the nearly 10 years I've lived in the DC area I've considered The Source my favorite restaurant. The modern and upscale interior combined with superb and unique food made this a place I always looked forward to dining at when the opportunity arose. It had been a year or so since my last visit so I took a friend there last night (10/19/18) to introduce her to the restaurant I always rave about.
Well, something changed since my last visit. The interior is starting to feel a little dingy and in need of updating and a deep cleaning, particularly the carpet. The menu has changed in a way that I find both odd and irritating. Like at many steakhouses in the area, sides are no longer included in the price of an entree. Oddly, all of the sides are listed under the category "from the wok". The options include drunken noodles, crab fried rice, and other items that seemed like odd sides to pair with the entrees. This was disconcerting. I ended getting a side of crab fried rice for $18. It was very good. However, that made the cost of my meal $50+ for a piece of salmon and a single side. I'm pretty sure that's way more than the previous pricing with sides included.
Service continues to be outstanding. Everyone is super friendly, as has been the case for the last decade. And the food was good overall. It just didn't have the same clean, upscale, modern feel for some reason, which diminished my enthusiasm. The construction outside the Newseum right now also meant the blinds were kept mostly closed. Maybe that's part of it.
There are lots of places in the area to get a great meal for two people with a cocktail for under $150. I'm not sure I want to spend that much at The Source again. It's still worth visiting at least once for those who have never been.
The staff really took the high quality dining experience over the top. Everyone was so attentive, from the hostesses to the bar staff. I’d enthusiastically recommend the Source to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in DC.
Limited menu. Small portions. Too many attempts to up-sell. Food was pretty good, but not great.
The food here is NOT worth the money. My husband and I travel all over and eat fine dining foods. This was truly a disappointment. We did have a server that was on his 2nd table ever that went above and beyond. Other than that don’t waste time nor money on the food.
I have been recently and in the past. The food and service have always been exemplary. I love the location, near the museums an Nation Gallery. The perfect place for business meals, celebrating with friends, treating out of town guest. I will be back.
Surprised that the Saturday brunch menu was entirely “dim sum”. Actually small plates of this and that vaguely oriental. I was never sure what I was eating. It was IK but unremarkable. What was bad was the monotonous thumping music. Good wine.
An experience of decadent food and a warm atmosphere
Try the flight of dumplings. Different and absolutely delicious. Outstanding service.
Great ambience and service
Great food... really small tables!
Tuna tartare and tiger shrimp dumplings were so good!!
Excellent service and fabulous food. One of our favorite restaurants
Always amazing!! One of our favorite DC spots! Food amazing, service amazing! Thanks Jorge!
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I would recommend The Source to anyone that wants a great dining experience.
A return visit, and a nice space as always (although I miss sitting upstairs for lunch). My biggest lament about the restaurant is seeing the exact same menu for eons, meaning I have now had the same salad about 8 times in a row cause of lack of other appealing choices.
Really inventive fusion menu and beautifully presented food.
We love the hospitality of this team. Please give our regards to Chef Russ. P.S. We absolutely love that you've made note of our fav table.
Jorge is the best waiter ever! Will be back as soon as I can.
Quiet place. Good service. Interesting Asian fusion food.
Host was short with customers, expressed frustration with request of bigger table, felt unwelcome, was a business dinner with executive present - exec showed concern after seeing reservee being spoken in argumentative manner from the host.
Food was well prepared. The lunch menu was great. It was quiet enough for a business lunch.
Everything was very good, food, service, atmosphere.
Chirashi Bowl - OMG. So good! The service and food are spectacular. Highly recommended.
Food was good and hot. Would have been nice if the sous chef was there as some signature deserts were not available.
The service was exceptional from the moment we walked through the doors. The tastin menu was delightful and they were easily able to make the necessary modifications for my gluten free diet (Celiac). Highly recommend The Source, especially for special occasions.
