Very nice vibe sitting on the street side. We both had the filet medallions- cooked to perfection. Kim was provided friendly and timely service in the middle of a Friday night rush.

Outdoor seating was pleasant , however, ambiance not the best. Poke bowl outstanding, with mix as you go ingredients. Oyster appetizer slightly heavy on the breading.

We were a group of eight adults ranging in age from 21 to 93 years old. The restaurant is very good at accommodating food allergies, specifically ours was gluten and dairy. Every one of us in our group, enjoyed our food immensely. We will definitely be back.

Food and cocktails were really good and fairly priced. The waitstaff was not friendly. At all. Our server didn’t even tell us her name. It was our anniversary, and I put that in our reservation….they didn’t care/say anything. Table was small uncomfortable in a corner at the front…We felt like we were a nuisance and were not looking to stay any longer than necessary. Wouldn’t come back for a special occasion…maybe for a random dinner if we were in the area but would likely just pick somewhere else.

I greatly appreciate Tom's Oyster Bar-Royal Oak allowing patrons to reserve tables, without a credit card, on Open Table! Nice! Unlike some other restaurants in Royal Oak who want $25 to make a reservation and then penalize you with this cost if you don't show up or are late. My only complaint/suggestion is to try to lower your costs of drinks and meals. Thank you!

Service was excellent and so was the Spanish coffee. They had a lobster Bruschetta as a special, which was very light on the lobster. We also each had the Lobster bisque, which had good flavor. We split the Lobster Seafood Paella, and this is really what brings my rating down. The lobster tail that came with it was cooked beautifully and seasoned well! The muscles and shrimp had no flavor to them. The rice was bland, overcooked, and slightly watery. The color of the rice was yellow, but there was no saffron flavor, or hint of any other seasoning, including salt. We chocked down the flavorless shrimp and muscles, but left the rice. I wouldn’t expect a perfect, traditional paella form a seafood restaurant, but this dish was very disappointing, especially for the price.

We normally have a great time at Tom’s. The evening didn’t start well. Part of our party checked in early and didn’t like the original table. After asking the waitress to move, they started to move to another table. The second group was walking in mid move. The hostess literally freaked out, started circling her face with her hand and repeating multiple times “Excuse me, I’m the hostess”. No apologies for the extreme response. Later as food came out, there was a clear mix up and fish tacos were being served when someone ordered a large fish and chips. Almost everyone was done with dinner when the fish and chips came out. Then when we received the bill, the fish and chips and the fish tacos were on the bill. Needless to say, the multiple issues definitely marred a usually great restaurant experience at Tom’s.

I had a most pleasant lunch at Tom's, meeting up with an old colleague from the past. We sat inside by the window and had a great talk and reminisced on the past. Our waiter recognized that we were there to talk and gave us the space and time to chat. When is came time to order we listened to his suggestions and ordered. Meal was great, I thought a fair value and our waiter couldn't have more accommodating and friendly. Great job Tom's!

Tom's never disappoints! Our table was next to the street, mixing the traffic noise with the bustle of the pedestrian flow. Erica was fantastic, quick with the repartee and tasty drinks. The table shared a delicious platter of oysters with Eel Lake being my favorite. Sushi rolls were spot on as were the Fish and Chips. It is very difficult to maintain a good quality level in the restaurant business, especially for all the years Tom's has been around, but they pull it off.

Five of us arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Service was very good, food and drink were tasty and reasonable. Noise level was high and seating uncomfortable. Would go back and recommend to others.

Hostess was very rude to us and other diners. It took 20 minutes for our table of three to be acknowledged, another 10 minutes to get water and another 15 to get a drink from the bar. Our soup came out cold. After that, we decided to cash out and go somewhere else. It was a waste of time and money.

We loved the ambiance, despite it being a little loud, and the service was excellent! The food highlights for us were the smoked salmon pate and oysters. Delicious! I'd skip the lobster fries, though - good lobster shouldn't be fried. Overall, too salty, and not worth the price. A mild issue that didn't ruin an otherwise excellent dinner date, though!

It's been awhile since I've been to Tom's. Still good food and drinks. We may have been a little outside the right season for lobster, and the portion of lobster in the rolls and pasta dish was a little skimpy. The mussell appetizer was very tasty, especially the sauce for dipping rolls. Drinks, (especially the signature Spanish coffee), were great. Pricing is a little high, but expected.

My boyfriend, mom, and I came here just to try a new place for dinner. We started with the blue point oysters which were good! Maybe a tad overpriced but I’m not an oyster connoisseur lol. Also started with the volcano roll which we all LOVED! Boyfriend got the lobster bisque which he said was delicious. They had a Voodoo Shrimp Pasta feature which I ordered, which was very good! Mom had the Bourbon Glazed Scallops that she couldn’t stop raving about. Boyfriend ate all of his lake Perch which is telling enough. We would definitely recommend it here!

Beautiful sunny day for Sunday brunch! Imaginative drink menu. Disappointed that only one oyster variety was available. Especially with those prices$3-5 each We were celebrating a birthday which was handled nicely by Caleb. Good service. Management should give wait staff the opportunity to taste everything on the menu.

My girlfriend and I went to Tom's Oyster Bar for lunch. I had my usual Salt Life Sampler. The oysters rockefeller were so overdone that all I could taste were the breadcrumbs. I'm sorry that I didn't tell the server until halfway through our meal, but she just said she was sorry. We did enjoy their signature Spanish coffee. Luckily I used a Groupon so the bottom line wasn't as bad as it could be, but I don't plan to come back as the food has gone downhill over the years. BTW, the place was empty. I did want to give a shoutout to Cierra, our server. She was excellent.

Tempura fish and chips. Definitely not tempua batter. Small pieces of fish that had a mild fishy flavor. Fish tacos were good. Salmon reuben was good. Expecting a lot more for the high price.
