Restaurant Wjelbik (meaning "pantry") is located in a 600-year old building in Bautzen. It's owned by the Mahling family, with their daughter Monika in charge of the restaurant and her husband Thomas Lukas operating as head chef. On the Wjelbik menu you'll find traditional Saxon and Lusatian dishes, such as Sorbian Wedding Soup, Lausitzer trout fillet and Caramelized rhubarb compote. Try a locally brewed beer or a fine wine to make your meal even sweeter. If you're staying in town for the night, you can rest in the Hotel Dom-Eck, a Sorbian hotel near the Wjelbik.

    Ein Restaurant wie man es immer seltener findet. Das Essen sehr gut, Service perfekt und ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Ein rundum gelungener Abend. Sehr empfehlenswert!

    Das Essen war super und die Bedienung freundlich. Leider war unser Tisch direkt am Tresen und Küchenausgang. Wir hatten das Gefühl in einer Bahnhofshalle zu sitzen. Ständig Durchgangsverkehr hinterm Rücken+ Leute die nach Plätzen fragen oder reservieren möchten. Reservieren sollte man auf jeden Fall.
