My partner and I visited Zaragoza for our New Year’s Eve dinner. I made a reservation with the understanding that a set menu was in place, however when we arrived and seated at a tiny table far too close to other diners for comfort, we were told that as there were only two of we could only order fro. The everyday menu. The service was slow and our waiter did not seem to understand what he was doing. We waited far too long for our drinks to arrive and when they did our drinks menu was taken away. When our food finally arrived it was mediocre, the paella was bland and the potatoes were not fresh. Although the meatballs were good. Cocktails and food is very overpriced for what you are getting and the service was terrible. The only highlight of the evening was seeing another couple get engaged.
Food was fairly average , service was a bit slow also however it was New Year’s Eve
Good atmosphere. Good service. Enjoyed food and set menu. Really enjoyed and will return!
Niall was very friendly as always . Issue with the table we reserved which was disappointing
Average meal with average service.
Had a really nice meal here with my husband and our friends, the food was lovely the cocktails were delicious and the staff were friendly. The only small minus was that you have to be very specific about what water you want. Tap water is available but we only found out after having several bottles of filter water brought to the table and the wooden floors can be a bit treacherous if you are wearing heels. Well worth a visit though!
Went with a group of 10 on 22nd Dec. Have been to zaragoza lots over the last few years and regularly recommend it to friends etc as its always delivered but this was the first occasion I was underwhelmed. We were given a set menu and couldn't use al a carte even though I've been with larger groups before and this wasn't and issue. Maybe it was a christmas issue but it didn;t seem any busier than other saturday nights I'd been there. Service was off too and was difficult to get a waiter at times for drinks. I noticed the normal Maitre'D wasn't there and perhaps that made a difference on the night. Anyway I haven't given up on Zaragoza but would have a hard time convincing the group I was with to go back as a gang.
High quality food with excellent friendly service great place for a relaxed chat - plenty of buzz so can be noisy
Great place and good food! love the chicken wings!!!
We came for the tapas but the menu looked like an ordinary menu with the exception that they offered to bring everything out at once. The lady serving us was lovely but didn’t really engage us about the food. The food was very standard other than the pork belly which was lovely. We ordered the marinated feta (just lumps of feta with some seasoning), the mussels (again standard with little sauce and no bread) and the paella (not flavorful) and potato braves (chips with sauce). We felt we could have got a better meal elsewhere for the same price.
Food was delicious & the staff attention to detail is the best I’ve encountered in many years. Lively with a great atmosphere. Ten out of ten all the way for us. Mary
If the review was for food only it would be one star. Good service and beautiful interior. Our wings were drowned in a not very nice tasting sauce, the duck pastry was dry and bland. As bad as the starters were they were the highlight. Our steamed mussels were awful. The majority of them were undercooked and tasteless and a worryingly large amount of them were closed. The meatballs left a very unpleasant after taste. At €13 for 6 miserly meatballs it is a complete rip off. The prawns were just ok but over cooked. Again a rip off at €14 for about 7 prawns. Finally to top it off we were overcharged for our glasses of wine. This is a place that seems willing to ignore poor standards of food because their location will guarantee footfall. Plenty of other great options nearby.
A vibrant, unfussy yet excellent restaurant in the heart of Dublin with friendly, attentive staff and a wide ranging menu.
We have been here twice before. As before both the food and atmosphere was very nice. Unfortunately we had a very poor experience on this night with the service. We arrived at 8pm and left at 11.10pm and this wasn't because we had a second bottle of wine or anything it was because we were so long waiting at various times. We were seated immediately, and ordered everything within 15 minutes. The starters came out very quick and were lovely. However, it was upwards of an hour before our next plates of food arrived. At no point did our waiter explain there was a delay. we asked a different waiter to check on our food but they never returned. eventually we got our waiter who took our order and it seems like he just forgot. These things happen and he brought us complimentary prosecco. All ok so. We got our tapas plates at about 9.30 (initially our starters arrived again so we had to explain we already received these!). the food was enjoyable. but again, once we finished these it was another 30 minutes before anybody came to our table to clear it and ask us about dessert/coffee. Just seems like we were forgotten about again. When we did order a coffee it took over 20 minutes for us to get them and it was nearly 11pm at this point. As were in at 8 I was hoping to be away between 10 and 10.30 so we could meet friends for a drink before going home and relieving the babysitter. So it was disappointing that we were delayed so unnecessarily and had to change our plans.
Top notch food. Was here for a christmas lunch with work. Looking forward to going back.
