My partner and I visited Zaragoza for our New Year’s Eve dinner. I made a reservation with the understanding that a set menu was in place, however when we arrived and seated at a tiny table far too close to other diners for comfort, we were told that as there were only two of we could only order fro. The everyday menu. The service was slow and our waiter did not seem to understand what he was doing. We waited far too long for our drinks to arrive and when they did our drinks menu was taken away. When our food finally arrived it was mediocre, the paella was bland and the potatoes were not fresh. Although the meatballs were good. Cocktails and food is very overpriced for what you are getting and the service was terrible. The only highlight of the evening was seeing another couple get engaged.
Food was fairly average , service was a bit slow also however it was New Year’s Eve
Good atmosphere. Good service. Enjoyed food and set menu. Really enjoyed and will return!
Niall was very friendly as always . Issue with the table we reserved which was disappointing
Average meal with average service.
Had a really nice meal here with my husband and our friends, the food was lovely the cocktails were delicious and the staff were friendly. The only small minus was that you have to be very specific about what water you want. Tap water is available but we only found out after having several bottles of filter water brought to the table and the wooden floors can be a bit treacherous if you are wearing heels. Well worth a visit though!
Went with a group of 10 on 22nd Dec. Have been to zaragoza lots over the last few years and regularly recommend it to friends etc as its always delivered but this was the first occasion I was underwhelmed. We were given a set menu and couldn't use al a carte even though I've been with larger groups before and this wasn't and issue. Maybe it was a christmas issue but it didn;t seem any busier than other saturday nights I'd been there. Service was off too and was difficult to get a waiter at times for drinks. I noticed the normal Maitre'D wasn't there and perhaps that made a difference on the night. Anyway I haven't given up on Zaragoza but would have a hard time convincing the group I was with to go back as a gang.
High quality food with excellent friendly service great place for a relaxed chat - plenty of buzz so can be noisy
Great place and good food! love the chicken wings!!!
We came for the tapas but the menu looked like an ordinary menu with the exception that they offered to bring everything out at once. The lady serving us was lovely but didn’t really engage us about the food. The food was very standard other than the pork belly which was lovely. We ordered the marinated feta (just lumps of feta with some seasoning), the mussels (again standard with little sauce and no bread) and the paella (not flavorful) and potato braves (chips with sauce). We felt we could have got a better meal elsewhere for the same price.
Food was delicious & the staff attention to detail is the best I’ve encountered in many years. Lively with a great atmosphere. Ten out of ten all the way for us. Mary
If the review was for food only it would be one star. Good service and beautiful interior. Our wings were drowned in a not very nice tasting sauce, the duck pastry was dry and bland. As bad as the starters were they were the highlight. Our steamed mussels were awful. The majority of them were undercooked and tasteless and a worryingly large amount of them were closed. The meatballs left a very unpleasant after taste. At €13 for 6 miserly meatballs it is a complete rip off. The prawns were just ok but over cooked. Again a rip off at €14 for about 7 prawns. Finally to top it off we were overcharged for our glasses of wine. This is a place that seems willing to ignore poor standards of food because their location will guarantee footfall. Plenty of other great options nearby.
A vibrant, unfussy yet excellent restaurant in the heart of Dublin with friendly, attentive staff and a wide ranging menu.
We have been here twice before. As before both the food and atmosphere was very nice. Unfortunately we had a very poor experience on this night with the service. We arrived at 8pm and left at 11.10pm and this wasn't because we had a second bottle of wine or anything it was because we were so long waiting at various times. We were seated immediately, and ordered everything within 15 minutes. The starters came out very quick and were lovely. However, it was upwards of an hour before our next plates of food arrived. At no point did our waiter explain there was a delay. we asked a different waiter to check on our food but they never returned. eventually we got our waiter who took our order and it seems like he just forgot. These things happen and he brought us complimentary prosecco. All ok so. We got our tapas plates at about 9.30 (initially our starters arrived again so we had to explain we already received these!). the food was enjoyable. but again, once we finished these it was another 30 minutes before anybody came to our table to clear it and ask us about dessert/coffee. Just seems like we were forgotten about again. When we did order a coffee it took over 20 minutes for us to get them and it was nearly 11pm at this point. As were in at 8 I was hoping to be away between 10 and 10.30 so we could meet friends for a drink before going home and relieving the babysitter. So it was disappointing that we were delayed so unnecessarily and had to change our plans.
Top notch food. Was here for a christmas lunch with work. Looking forward to going back.
Enjoyed every part of it, the food was spectacular and great ambience and service
Great food, great service, will definitely return!
Had another lovely evening Zaragoza. The food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. See you again soon.
Great atmosphere and amazing service. Young Irish waiter was so attentive and friendly. Gorgeous gin and tonics, wouldn't go for the paella again, easy food for all palettes.
A table for five initially looked 'exposed' but proved to be perfect. The restaurant has a good 'buzz' but is not too loud and we were able to talk without having to shout.
Everybody spoke highly of the food, the staff and the venue although all reckoned the wine was a tad overpriced.
The only real downside was the lack of options for people with special dietary needs. The allergen guide is very comprehensive and identifies each dish according to its ingredients. However, for the lactose intolerant (reckoned to be up to 10% of the adult population!) all it did was show how few options were available and one of the group was confined to a choice of ONE starter and ONE main course. To say the choice was limited is an understatement and it was a disappointment to find that even something as basic as fish and fries had a dairy content (presumably in the fish batter).
Great food. Friendly service. Would recommend.
Our dinner reservation in Zaragoza was to celebrate my birthday with a close friend. She had previously dined there and had recommended it.
Food- perhaps it was the choices we made but I found everything to be quite heavy, fried and of local chipper quality with high end restaurant prices. I have much better tapas for a fraction of the price.
Cost- the meal was a treat from my friend so I didn’t see the final bill
But most dishes were upwards of €12
We shared a carafe of sangria which was pleasant and I guess fairly priced at €16
Ambience- pleasant though the low positioning of the light fitting meant that the waiters had to duck when passing by our table and often nudged into our table which was distracting.
Toilets- overall clean but the toilet seat was broken in 1 out of 3 of the toilet in the ladies facilities. A very fancy dye on tap and Hand dryer device was a nightmare as it blew hot air upwards. One got a blow dry in addition to a half hearted hand dry.
Service was fair. Very eager in the beginning to encourage drink orders but we had to wait a long time to get a second bottle of water.
Fabulous food, wonderful ambiance with excellent service
Dreadful. Service was appalling and the food was overpriced. Won't be back.
Loved this place.. excellent food, lovely ambiance and good value.
We have always loved Zaragoza. Its an awesome place where the tapas are better and tastier than what you get in Spain.. Service is always fast..friendly and the staff are always conscience to the needs of diners. Had the organic pinot Grigio which went down a treat. We told the staff if was my wife's birthday they did make a lovely gesture and bring out some complimentary baileys cheesecake as a birthday cake.. Well-done to all Involved..we will continue our patronage and look forward to the next time we can return..
It was a lovely restaurant food and service fantastic will be back
We were late getting to our table, the booking was for 7 and we needed to be out by 9 so we were left a little short. The food was then given to us with very little time between courses. It's nice to have a breather between courses but we got them one after the other, which made us feel a little rushed. There was an assiette of desserts. Two of them were nice. We cannot comment on the other one as the spoons we were given would not fit into the tiny jars containing the third dessert! The staff were helpful and courteous. I understand it is a busy time of year but it all felt a bit rushed tbh.
I have been to the restaurant on a few ocassions and have always found the food lovely and enjoyed by experiences. This time, however, as soon as we sat down we were told you needed the table back by 7 and we had waiters/waitresses constantly at our table and we felt uncomfortable from the moment we sat down. Your manager took on of the chairs away from our table to give to another table and I had to place my belongings on the floor (I was offered the cloak room but I didnt avail of it). Regardless, it was another interaction that made us feel less than welcome and under pressure. I would still recommend the restuarant (based on my previous visits) but on this ocassion it let me down as it was my choice of restaurant and my dinner companions were less than happy with their experience and I would not say they will be back again or indeed reviewing it in a favourable light
Overall was the restaurant ok. I was really disappointed, because there where a lot of stuff I would pick if it was not spicy.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Food is alright but quite pricey so debatable as to value for money. Also it is not really a tapas restaurant anymore. You can't get tortilla but you can get chicken satay! Wine is way overpriced.
Food was divine and I look forward to my soonest return. Staff were very accomodating and my guest throughly enjoyed themselves!
Great food & service
Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. The food was really good, if a little pricey. Perfect spot for a lively night out with friends.
Fantastic service with really attentive staff, food was delivered quickly and was excellent. Really enjoyable and will certainly go back again
Outstanding service ...... everyone was so nice the food was excellent and they were so obliging. Thank you to the lovely waitress who organises the sangria for three People. I will most certainly be back!!!
Recommend the monkfish and prawn curry also the scallops
Really enjoyed this meal ...Great food and great staff !
Average, service was very poor
