He would go to Lindy’s, an all-night Jewish deli on Broadway that became Mindy’s in his stories, and listen.Runyon married a down-on-her-luck Spanish countess from Madrid, 26 years his younger, who turned out to be an up-on-her-heels Mexican dancer from Tampico. When he died his ashes were taken up in a plane and sprinkled all over New York.

    The Pen & Pencil holds a special place in our hearts as it’s where my partner and I had our very first date almost 2½ years ago. Since then, it’s become one of our favourite places, especially for our Monday brunches – the 50% off food is always a bonus! No matter what day or time we visit, the food and service never disappoint. The staff are always welcoming, the atmosphere is great, and the quality is consistently excellent. Thanks to the whole Pen & Pencil team for always making it such a lovely place to come back to. Keep up the amazing work! ❤️❤️

    Fantastic experience at Rodeos Wolverhampton! A huge thank you to all the team, especially Abbie, for looking after me and my family so well. The service was warm, attentive and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding hospitality — we’ll definitely be back!
