It was lovely to get to try regional cuisine; we specifically wanted to try sauerbraten, which my partner enjoyed. It was vinegary and salty, and served with a nice applesauce that complimented the dish. I got the haxenpfännchen which was a savory hash of pork knuckle (if you've never had it, it's mostly meat and the skin is crackled).
