Had the fish & chips for lunch, fish was cooked perfectly nice thin crispy batter with plenty of fish inside good size too, chips were nice cooked with skin on & separate little pots of peas & tartar sauce. The meal was a generous portion & good value. Definitely worth a visit.

I was greeted by name (without giving it, super impressive). Taken to a table located where I requested. Each member of staff offered friendly, professional, service, it was at least a first class experience. Food and wine were equally as high in standard. Thank you for the perfect evening!

As always the food was excellent. Although not busy the noise levels were low and we had a really enjoyable night. The staff as always were first class very polite and a credit to the restaurant

The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. So many whiskeys to choose from with a cigar room to boot!! The rooms are totally awesome as well with views across a green lawn to the river. Just gorgeous. This is not my first time to visit the Mash Tun and it definitely will not be my last!!

The waitress was extremely helpful with guidance re a dairy intolerance. She was even able to suggest a dairy free dessert that was not on the normal menu.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Palace Hotel, with a great view over the river. The customer service was top class. Our server was friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, with plenty left over to take home and enjoy with a cup of tea later. There were just a couple of little things that could have made the experience even better. The sofa we were seated on was very low and not particularly comfortable, especially for some of the older ladies in our party who have sore hips and knees and found it difficult to get up. It would also have been nice to have our hot drinks served at the same time as the food, as we had finished our drinks by the time the food arrived. The sausage rolls were cold when they arrived, but this was no problem for the staff, who were happy to heat them up for us. They were delicious afterwards! Overall, we had a lovely afternoon, and the food and service were excellent. The best part of all was seeing Ma from the Spa and getting a lovely, friendly hug. ❤️
