Perfect restaurant. Interesting menu, knowledgeable and attentive servers, fantastic food.

The food and cocktails were delicious, and service was prompt and friendly. We went early, so there was not karaoke happening, and the place was pretty quiet.

What a welcome addition to the Friendship/Tenley neighborhood! Where else in Washington can one person get salmon frites, another get a smash burger with sauce Diane, and a third get a banh mi?! (And that's not even taking into account the shared space with El Jefe pizza, with tables able to order from both - got to go back to try the birria pizza!) The welcome was neighborly and warm; they seem as excited to be in the neighborhood as we are to have them. The food was outstanding - my banh mi with pork belly had the requisite explosion of freshness (carrot, cucumber, cilantro and jalapeno) with each bite. The others with me went with burgers, perfectly done. The "frites" that accompanied each weren't the thin strings one often gets with steak/chicken/salmon frites; they were thick and well-spiced. (Generous helpings - our leftover fries were perfect added into my home-made breakfast quesadilla the next day.) They just began serving brunch - their take on the old "Steak and Egg" that had been in that space since I was in high school (i.e., the '70s). We'll be back often; inexpensive enough for an impromptu meal; nice enough to take friends for a night out! Support this great Friendship/Tenley gem!
