Best Contemporary German Restaurants in Bad Schandau

Lovely restaurant with AC on a warm summer night. Sat outside at first but I quickly moved inside, because of the smokers. Restaurant was very accommodating. The pike was perfectly cooked and well presented over a bed of risotto with snow peas and red peppers. I had a very good German Riesling (Goldriesling) that was recommended by the waiter.

This was our second visit and like the first, it was outstanding.

It was an amazing experience food-wise. I loved the atmosphere and the food was really exciting and new. Some combinations felt very Japanese inspired while the resulting taste was very German. The bread was spectacularly good. I had a wine pairing with the menu and was beyond impressed with the choices—especially loved the foray into Czech wine. I do wish that there was some small explanation of the dishes on the menu (it seems to only list main ingredients) but perhaps they want to encourage a dialogue with the service staff, which was outstanding and very helpful. One small negative note: not all plates were optimally salted. This did not impact my overall enjoyment of the meal.
