★★★★★ Exceptional oysters and outstanding service We had a fantastic dinner at the White Horse on Canongate. We started with a dozen oysters, a mix of Lindisfarne, Carlingford and Islay. Every one was fresh, cold and briny, and it was great to compare them side by side. The shrimp tempura was light and crisp, and the Hot Platter for Two was the star of the night: generous, beautifully cooked and worth every penny. The service was just as good. Aislinn and the team were warm and attentive, knew the menu well, and made us feel looked after all evening. If you're in Edinburgh and love seafood, don't miss it. We'd happily come back.

We happened to dine here when our first choice was full. We are so glad to have been bumped to this dining establishment also located in the Apex Waterloo place hotel. Make this your first choice for fine dining in Edinburgh. I happen to love fresh mussels cooked in a cream, butter, garlic sauce. I asked about the portions as I’ve been dissatisfied with both the quantity and quality of the dish in previous restaurants. Our server was a Ukrainian girl. She described the dish in detail. Upon arrival it was everything as described. Approximately 80 mussels in total. My party of four was overwhelmed by the quality of each dish. I cannot rate this establishment higher.

Olive Branch has a short menu and I could have eaten any of the choices. We were a party of three, the red was not very busy, the food was delicious, service great - especially when a big glass of red wine was spilt !

Gorgeous bar and restaurant. Excellent first class service in bar area and in restaurant downstairs , cocktails and food in restaurant fabulous. First time visiting would definitely recommend and will be returning
