- AAidyGoldMiami - Dade •12 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoTin Tin is a restaurant with a lot of promise. The food is creative, lively, and, for the most part, genuinely delicious. I appreciate the seasonal menu and the thoughtfulness behind the dishes. Service was also very good, and we will absolutely be back. But a few things kept the experience from being truly excellent. First, the food should arrive hot from the kitchen. When you’re serving beautifully conceived dishes, temperature matters. Unfortunately, several of ours arrived less than hot, and that took away from the experience. Second, the portions need some serious reconsideration. The prices suggest a level of generosity that simply wasn’t there. The chicken dish with arroz con pollo, in particular, was abysmally small. I understand refined presentation, but this is Miami, not a French restaurant where you leave wondering if dinner was just an elaborate appetizer. We want to enjoy the food and leave feeling we got our money’s worth. And then there was the Ropa Vieja Wellington. At $41, I had high expectations. What arrived felt, essentially, like a very expensive empanada. That one genuinely broke my heart. The flavors may have been lovely, but the execution and portion did not justify the price. I felt completely let down and, frankly, a little defrauded. I sincerely hope this particular dish does not return with the next seasonal menu. Tin Tin has the creativity, the service, and the culinary talent to be exceptional. I’m grateful the menu evolves seasonally, and I would love to see the restaurant get the details right: serve the food piping hot, give guests more satisfying portions, and make sure the prices reflect what’s actually on the plate. There is a lot to love here. We’ll be back. But with a few adjustments, Tin Tin could go from very good to truly outstanding.More infoTin Tin$$$$• Contemporary Latin• Little Havana•4.8
