Uros (?sp) was our waiter and he was excellent! He was attentive, professional, gave suggestions when asked, very kind, and efficient. We sat outside and it was lovely. Only constructive criticism are the prices. I thought some were high. But the service was phenomenal.

We went for our anniversary. We were seated immediately. Layout of restaurant is really cool, with upper and lower areas. Upper area overlooks kitchen and colorful downstairs lower area. The space is energizing and calming at the same time. (I could write a lot in this review, but I’m going to summarize now). Great staff, really friendly. Delicious cocktails, creatively constructed. Eclectic, global menu. We had Peruvian style ceviche, kampachi with lilikoi, miso black cod in daishi and swordfish in Thai curry. Everything was absolutely delicious. This was as good a dining experience as I’ve ever had in San Diego. Juniper and Ivy is now my favorite dining experience in San Diego. This is how going out for a nice dinner should be. Can’t wait to go back because there are a lot of other dishes on the menu to be tried. Thanks to everyone at Juniper and Ivy.

That was an incredible and memorable meal. Chef Luciano is a gem of a human—he frequented our table to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal, and was wonderful at recommending specific dishes to try and share. Our waitress was lovely too. She was working ALL the tables AND the bar, but still found time to chat and be present with us. The short ribs were the most tender and delicious ones I’ve ever had. The seafood fettuccine was lovely, and the various chefs specials (pasta with smoked salmon and mushrooms in a cream sauce) were well-loved too. The cheesecake, lava cake, and banana cream pie will have you dreaming of their dessert menu for weeks after. To die for. Prices were extremely reasonable and portions were massive. All the pasta dishes were at least 2x the usual restaurant helping and everyone was able to make a second meal out of it. Drinks were excellent too. There’s a nice wine list and some interesting cocktails. All in all, this might be my new favorite restaurant in San Diego. Please stop by and give it a try. Be patient with the occasional delay in service, because the food and people are working hard and worth it!

I had a wonderful birthday celebration at Great Maple San Diego! My daughter treated me to a special birthday outing, and it was truly a memorable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was excellent! 👌🏾😋👏🏾 The experience made my birthday even more special. My first experience was a celebration of my 65th birthday, and choosing One Door North turned out to be a great decision! The service, food and ambience were all on point, and food highlights were shrimp skewers, the pepperoni flatbread pizza, the apple crisp & warm cookie served with ice cream, and the make your own s'mores were such a fun novelty!

Everything exceeded our already high expectations. Our hostess, Sydney, seated us at what we thought was the restaurant's best table—an oval two-top set with beautiful handmade dinnerware made by a master potter specifically for the restaurant. We began with chicken liver mousse and berry jam, paired with two ice-cold martinis: a perfect opening. Skipping salads, we moved straight to the main courses—duck for my wife and black cod for me. Both were outstanding. The duck was served two ways, seared breast and leg confit, accompanied by beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked farro. The black cod, with its delicate Asian flavors, came with a delightful tempura mushroom, sautéed spinach, and a smoky dashi broth. The sommelier paired the cod with a glass of Pinot Noir and the duck with a Bordeaux blend. Both pairings were spectacular; the Pinot was a particularly pleasant surprise alongside the Asian-inspired cod. Chef Owen Beatty, who visited our table, has every reason to be proud of the dinner his kitchen delivered. As memorable as the food was, the dining room's ambiance and the polished, attentive service deserve equal praise. Both were worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Even if the weather tempts you onto the patio, I would choose the dining room—it adds so much to the experience. I highly recommend A.R. Valentien for a truly wonderful evening.
