Best Farm To Table Restaurants in East Petersburg

This is one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in a long time! Food, ambiance and service were all excellent.

The food was excellent. The shrimp and grits preparation was unique. Instead of the usual (shrimp mixed in with grits in the form of a porridge), their presentation was like a rice cake in the middle, under a light bed of greens, with shrimp separately around the edges. Then they added a wonderful somewhat spicy sauce to tie it all together. Really good! The associated store and nursery on the property add interest, a very fun place to look around and shop after breakfast.

What an exquisite treat to have an excellent meal accompanied by solicitous service. This was our first visit to John Jeffries, and we certainly look forward to a return visit. The food choices were interesting and well prepared. We particularly enjoyed the liver pate, the trout entree, and two great desserts (maple creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake). There were good wine offerings per glass with fair pours. The most delightful surprise was the waitstaff. They tag-teamed to assure the our dining experience was just perfect. We truly felt like valued guests. Thank you.
