Roy’s in Bonita Springs is a wonderful upscale restaurant with a warm, inviting atmosphere, outstanding seafood and beautifully presented dishes. You can tell the chefs take great pride in both the preparation and presentation of their food.
We visited on a Thursday evening and took advantage of their Happy Hour, which runs all evening on Thursdays. Roy’s is known for its tropical, Hawaiian-inspired cocktails. I enjoyed their signature Hawaiian Martini, which I believe was $7 off during Happy Hour. It was delicious and beautifully presented.
My friend and I decided to share a couple of dishes so we could sample more of the menu. We started with the Canoe Appetizer for Two. This included Szechuan ribs, a chicken spring roll, lobster potsticker, tuna roll, and blistered shishito peppers. Every single item was excellent, but we especially enjoyed those blistered peppers!
For dinner, we shared their Classic Four. This featured hibachi-grilled Atlantic salmon, Misoyaki butterfish, blackened island ahi, and roasted macadamia nut-crusted mahi. What a great way to enjoy four different preparations of fish! All were delicious, although the butterfish was probably our least favorite of the four. We did ask about substitutions and were told that another fish could be substituted for the butterfish, which is nice to know for our next visit.
The service throughout the evening was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely, and both the food and cocktails were beautifully prepared and presented. Everything came together for a really enjoyable experience.
Roy’s is definitely on the expensive side, but in our opinion, you get what you pay for. Between the quality of the seafood, the attention to detail, the service and the atmosphere, we felt it was well worth the money.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will absolutely return. Roy’s is a great choice when you’re looking for something special!
