Best Modern European Restaurants in Ashton-under-Lyne

Took my wife for her birthday, she loved it. Food was amazing with staff helping us pick different options we wouldn’t normally have tried and wine to pair with the food. Amazing staff and lovely setting, we had an amazing evening thank you.

Pizza at its most elevated in terms of taste and quality. Everything spot on from the bite size panelle and silky smooth mackerel pate to the sublime pizzas with the ultimate crispy bottoms. We have 4 halves and whilst none disappointed the porchetta was everyone’s favourite. Great service, cheese ice cream - who knew that was a thing?! - and drinks. We have already booked to go back at Christmas.

We ate at Chestergate Bistro last night and as usual found the food to be exceptional as always. To start with the complementary amuse bouche were very tasty . Spiced cauldron soup shots, apple slaw and a tiny bruschetta. We both had chicken liver pate with crusty warmed bread. Then shoulder of lamb which melted in the mouth. Excellent food and service !

Great small plates. We had burrata, calamari, fish skewers and husband also had pulled pork burger which was delicious
