Exquisite design details. Fine tuned attentive service that makes you feel valued and welcomed in equal measure. Simply wonderful. With produce locally reared and sourced. It is prepared with love and skill into heartwarming favourites that will satiate the finest of palates. Particular highlights: scallop, beef pie (possibly the best pie in the land), baked chocolate mousse and blackcurrant wood sorbet. With three rooms, you could take a stroll and while away hours in front of the roaring fire with a cocktail, fine food, wine and then return restored by this delightful rural retreat.

All three agreed that everything was at least four star. My pork tenderloin was delicious. The only star dropped came as a result of the lemon meringue pudding. A disaster of the first order. Otherwise, ambience , food and service were spot on and it’s good to know we have such quality at the top of the road. Also good to see the place busy so early on a Thursday night.

This was our first trip to the bar. The staff where very attentive and friendly. The service was amazing nothing was to much trouble. The food was the best we have ever had dinning out. Great value for money. Will definitely be revisiting. Thank you all so much, my mum is in a wheel chair and access was very easy. Great job all round in fantastic surroundings.

It’s great to see this pub open again. It is such an amazing building and location. The new owners are doing a great job and the Thai pop up kitchen serves great food. A local classic car club were back for their second visit in a month, so it must be good! Only two things to note, they were quite busy when we went, and I believe they had a couple of staff missing, so service could have been faster, but we weren’t in a hurry, so no problem. The other thing is that vegetarians are very limited for choice at the moment. You have to ask for a vegan Pad Thai specifically, or you might get fish sauce and prawns! Apart from those teething problems it was excellent and we will be back!
