Twisted Liquid is a fun addition to Blacksburg! The cocktails are definitely the star of the show...excellent, creative, beautifully balanced, and clearly crafted with a lot of thought. The ambiance matches them perfectly: super modern and chic, colorful, funky in all the right ways, and just a really fun place to spend an evening. We happened to be there on a busy night when it felt like everyone arrived at once, and the staff handled it incredibly well. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and while the food took a little longer than usual, it was completely understandable given the crowd and the fact that it’s a smaller restaurant. The food was good and certainly a step above typical bar food, but for me, it didn’t quite reach the same level as the cocktails and overall experience. Everything we had was enjoyable, but nothing from the kitchen really left a lasting impression. I’d love to see the food elevated just a bit to match the creativity and quality happening behind the bar. Overall: A+ for cocktails, atmosphere, and friendly service. Twisted Liquid has a really cool vibe and a ton of personality. If the food kicked up a notch, the entire experience could be a standout.
