Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We had an exceptional experience at Eight at Gazegill. The food was nothing short of epic, with every course showcasing incredible ingredients, imagination and real attention to detail. From the garden herb focaccia and Lancashire whey butter to the magnificent roast sirloin, sticky short rib and red wine gravy, everything was cooked beautifully and bursting with flavour. The accompaniments were just as impressive, and the apple crumble dessert was a fantastic way to finish an already superb meal. What really stood out was the quality of the ingredients, the creativity behind the menu and the way everything came together to create something genuinely special. It felt thoughtful, distinctive and effortlessly accomplished rather than simply fine dining for the sake of it. A huge credit to Doug Crampton and the entire team for delivering such a memorable experience. Outstanding food, wonderful cooking and an experience that deserves every bit of praise. Epic food, exceptional quality and absolutely worth experiencing. Five stars without hesitation!

Beautiful venue, lovely food, exceptionally nice staff. Lovely to sit by the window watching the squirrels etc. and just feeling relaxed and unhurried at The Retreat.
