We had a group of 8 for a birthday celebration. Love the corner big round booth. We could all hear each other and engage in conversation. I regret that I am blanking out on our server’s name bc he was fantastic (I believe he mentioned he used to work at Eddy Vs). He was knowledgeable about all menu items and made fantastic suggestions. It felt like the staff really works as a team. The gin and tonic drink was amazing and the food was five stars. Highly recommend the Halibut dish! We will be back for another celebration of date night!

My wife and I had a lovely evening out. Our server Alex was outstanding, and our meals were excellent. I had the 8oz filet mignon that was superb, and my wife had an awesome shrimp dish. One of the managers { Amy ) came by our table to see if we were enjoying our meals. The managers and staff at J.Gilberts make sure that you have a wonderful dining experience.

My wife & I love Ocean Prime! Last night we were shocked to know that they now charge for the Bread Basket. This is ridiculous: we pay significant $ for great food and hate to feel like they're now 'nickel & diming' us, REALLY hope this changes

We went to celebrate our 25th anniversary and everything was great. The food was served very promptly and was to our liking. The ribeye steak was cooked to absolute perfection. The key lime pie was awesome. The wait staff was very friendly! all said a perfect place!

We came for my girlfriend’s birthday and had an outstanding experience. The historic castle setting is beautiful inside and out, with great attention to detail, multiple levels, and a warm, elevated atmosphere (plus a nice patio). The food was excellent across the board — the deviled eggs, wedge salad, meatballs, and wagyu were all well executed and flavorful. Everything felt intentional. What really stands out is the personal touch. The owner goes table to table and the entire staff is genuinely attentive and friendly. For the birthday they brought out a flower bouquet with a sparkler and even covered our dessert — a thoughtful gesture that made the night feel special. The wine list is strong and they offer flights if you want to try a few things. Overall, this is one of the better dining experiences in the Kansas City metro. A+ from top to bottom.

What a treat to have a business dinner at 801 Chophouse. We were greeted and seating right away. Our server Sheila G. was such a pro! She's very knowledgeable and attentive. Aside from the obligatory up-selling (which I totally get), the service was flawless and enjoyable. Although I would not recommend the bacon appetizer (it was excessively fatty), the rest of the food was fabulous and on point. Porterhouse was perfect and the sides were outstanding. The prices are not cheap, but it didn't matter much while we ate. Our only regret was not saving room for dessert. The ones that walked past out table looked delicious. Thank you 801!
