Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Charlbury

Excellent Meal to Celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The Staff were very attentive. Only feedback would be the tables are too close and we were unfortunately next to a table of 4 who were very loud which impacted our evening. Also the tables were very tired and sticky which needs to be addressed, as this distracts from the Excellent Food which we received. We would definitely recommend and would come back.

Yet another great experience at Piccolinos in Henley on Thames.

Lumière is a very special place for us. We don’t visit often, but we’ve been coming for special occasions over many years and they have been consistently outstanding every single time. This visit was particularly meaningful as it was my birthday and we’re expecting our first baby in just a couple of weeks. The team were genuinely excited for us and couldn’t have been more accommodating. They adapted the tasting menu beautifully around my pregnancy, creating “his and hers” versions of several dishes where needed. Everything had clearly been thought through in advance, so I never had to worry about dietary restrictions or feel like I was missing out. My dishes tasted every bit as incredible as I remembered from previous visits. As always, the food was exceptional - beautifully presented, full of balanced flavours and interesting elements that made every course memorable. Some dishes arrived with wonderfully theatrical presentation, but I won’t spoil the surprises! Lumière is more than we would normally spend on a meal, but for a truly special occasion it’s worth every penny. With a newborn arriving soon, it may be a while before we can indulge again, but we’ll be looking forward to our next visit already.
