Delicious food and we all had something different. The salad was beautifully fresh and delicious, the pizza was perfect as was the lasagna too. When my friends couldn't quite finish everything - the team offered to box it up, which was accepted, and is a great touch. Served by a great team who were there if you needed them, but didn't hurry you along, which again was appreciated.

Nice garden for sunny days - we had pre-lunch drinks outside, and then went back out for pudding and coffee. We had a lovely table by the window for lunch itself.

We went to the Red Lion, Bloxham, for Sunday lunch. Two had beef, one chicken and one of our party had a burger. The roasts were all delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, lovely crispy potatoes and a nice pile of seasonal veg with a large Yorkshire pudding. The beef also went down well. Only comment would be to serve with more gravy or an extra jug of gravy on the side. We asked for more but the small jug they brought it wasn’t really enough for 3. The burger came with crispy fries and onion rings and was very good also.

Just lovely from beginning to end. We arrived a few minutes early and they were more than able to accommodate us. The new (to us) cocktail menu is fabulous: no excess sugar or spritz; just nice short classic cocktails made with the best ingredients. An amazing swordfish steak special was the star of the show not to mention an unexpectedly complex and flavoursome chestnut veloute. One real treat for dessert was *three* different vintage of Sauterne dessert wine available by the glass, including a 1983 vintage which absolutely wowed this diner with its depth and complexity. No. 1 Ship Street is the best restaurant in Oxford, by far.
