Best Pre-Theater Restaurants in Bernal Heights

An unexpected gem. We stopped in for a glass of wine on our way to another engagement and talked to the bar tender long enough to get a good overview. Food was very good, nice portion sizes (we split a couple of items). Nicely paced service.

We came for the lunch deal at restaurant week and it was an excellent deal and an excellent meal. Attentive service and delicious fresh food.

As a real 100% Roman living in the Bay Area I usually am very skeptical about “Roman cuisine” abroad but I stumbled into 54 Mint last night with my wife. We both really liked it. We’ll definitely go back to taste different things. Looking forward to going back soon.

We enjoyed a lovely evening at Bouy. The service and food were excellent. The reason for the four-star, rather than five-star, ratings was the lack of vegan options on the menu and the inflexibility regarding ordering combinations of offered ingredients other than as specified on the menu. (For example, we wanted to order the abalone without the octopus leg.) They were, however, accommodating in terms of omitting items from dishes and/or serving them on the side. Although a few large tables were loud/rowdy at times, the overall ambiance was very nice.
