Best Romantic Restaurants in Kankakee

Love this place so much! The servers are charming and attentive, and the food and whiskey are just so amazing. Andrew did a great job!

My SpelHouse 91 class decided to gather since I was in town. I chose this place because it's Black-owned, and we are from an HBCU. I was really impressed with the ratings, and we decided this would be our place whenever we gather. We hope to gather in December to celebrate one of our famous classmates who is a renowned writer. Genesis was a stellar server. She allowed us to enjoy each other, and we didn't feel rushed or like we had to leave the table at a certain time. She explained the menu and was willing, kind, and just amazing. I've been a meeting planner for 30 years, and service and hospitality mean everything, brother.

I have wanted to try this restaurant for ages and was delighted that I finally had the chance to go. I thought the food was wonderful-I loved the seasonal menu. I had the squash bisque and the crispy mountain trout, and they were both delicious. I look forward to going back to try other things on the menu!

Our waiter was great. I forgot her name, I think it was Carla?? (She was Hispanic and had silver eyeshadow.) very good service and food was amazing. 10/10

My partner and I love Barrel and stop in frequently. Very comfortable seating. Lots of unique wines from around the world. Glasses are perfectly clean. I recently had a surprise party for my partner and I after we got engaged and it went perfectly! Staff were helpful and supportive throughout the process, provided excellent service, and even opened early for us to get things set up. Very grateful for their help!
