Best Romantic Restaurants in Carterton

This is a beautiful restaurant set in a magnificent building. The food is very nice, we each had a starter and a main course. Everything is well presented and very clean. My son is a diagnosed coeliac and there was a bit of an issue with the gluten free beer being labelled as containing gluten but this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently and it was found to be a fault with the manufacturer, not the restaurant. The manager couldn't have been more helpful and went above and beyond to resolve the issue. We were very grateful for that. We look forward to visiting again.

A wonderful experience as always! Service is impeccable and food is delicious. Two salmon starters and one scallops along with bread to nibble beforehand. Two monkfish with leaves and one game stew with mashed potato. Three fancies for dessert followed by coffee. So yummy. I’ll definitely be back! My only constructive criticism is that I felt the fancies were suited to an accompaniment for coffee rather than as an actual dessert. However some calories were saved, so I should be thankful for that!

Beautiful restaurant. Service friendly and professional. Food fantastic , if a little pricey , but I would say worth it. A few more choices of cider / ale would be nice.

As always the Fox delivered. Excellent food, service and all round good experience. We meet here 2 or 3 times a year to meet friends, as it’s half way for both of us. Always dependable and good.
