The Punch Bowl is a 17th century newly refurbished restaurant and pub located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and South Essex salt marshes. Chef Patron Rob and Front of House Manager Sally run a Two AA Rosette-rated restaurant, offering a nose-to-tail style menu with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily as the season's best comes in. The menu will always feature day-boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery. We offer two or three roasts on a Sunday and hold regular exciting food events which showcase classic cookery and intriguing ingredients.Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and York-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch.     We attended for the Taste of Asia night and it was wonderful. The food was delicious with each course paired with a wine. The chef explained each course to us and why the wine had been paired. The service was wonderful and the Hugo Spritz cocktail perfect! Highly recommend!

    What an amazing find The Fancy Fox is. Beautiful decor, great, relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. We celebrated my parents 60th wedding anniversary with a beautiful afternoon tea for 5. My dairy free daughter was happily catered for and we were all so comfortable being there, from the ages of 15-87! The food was delicious and selection of tea’s extensive. Thank you so much. We will be back and would thoroughly recommend.

    It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.
