Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast. Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Conceived by a Mulberry street local that was motivated to push the boundaries of a historic block that is in search of its reinvention. Gelso & Grand is situated at the iconic corner of Mulberry & Grand Street. The inviting and informal seating plan of the indoor, outdoor and private dining room boasts the marriage of modern and classic New York dining. We take pride in everything we do. Fantastic experience at Hawksmoor with top flight service and food. Excellent dirty martini. Beautiful and perfectly done oysters, shrimp cocktail, steaks, creamed spinach and sticky toffee pudding. Our only complaint is that the beautifully appointed dining room was way too loud. We could not have held a conversation in the dining room and asked to be relocated to a quieter location. We were placed at a lovely table in the bar where we enjoyed our meal and conversation. Recommend that Hawksmoor install soundproofing tiles in the main dining room, as it is a real feast for the eyes.

This is my second visit to Leon’s, the first for lunch. As with my prior visit, the food was excellent and the restaurant week offerings were generous. My partner and I enjoyed our meal in a very quiet environment, which was a refreshing change from dinner service which can be boisterous!

Yesterday I decided to celebrate my boyfriend birthday in Palermo. I made a reservation the same day for 8:30pm. We showed up earlier, around 8:00 pm. The host was able to accommodate us earlier. He was very welcoming and had a positive attitude. The meal started with complimentary bread and sauce(sweet tomato and paprika) The bread was fresh and super toasty:) especially the one with cheese inside yummy. I had a Pisco Sour cocktail. It was balanced between sweet and sour. For appetizer we ordered Burrata. The prosciutto had very hard edges which we didn’t like but rest was great. For the main dish I had tuna tartare. It was one of the best I ever had. The tuna was super fresh, practically melted in my mouth. The avocado had beautiful sweetness and the crunch on top was everything! The “soup” that came with tuna added perfect tangy taste to the dish. My boyfriend had NY strip Milanese( napolitano style). Unfortunately this was a miss. The meat was very gooey and practically impossible to chew. He thought that it will be chicken cutlet but it was a cow(his fault lol) Overall presentation of the food and the atmosphere was amazing! We will definitely come back for the steak and desserts!
