Great food , very fresh and good portion sizes. Fun and modern cool environment with great selection of drinks. Very friendly and professional service from all of the staff. Highly recommended, I will most definitely return and tell people about this great place. Oh and very good music playing at all times . An amazing all-round experience. Nothing negative to say.

Second visit to Akbar, this time on a quiet Monday evening, and once again I really enjoyed it. I started with the chicken tikka, freshly cooked in the tandoor and full of flavour. For the main course I had the king prawn madras, which was rich, spicy and very well balanced, with the prawns cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, and the quieter evening made it especially relaxed. Akbar has a traditional Indian atmosphere with a lot of character, which I personally prefer to some of the more modern Indian restaurants. After enjoying my first visit so much, it was great to come back and try something different. If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in Amsterdam, Akbar is definitely worth booking. I’ll be back again.

The best Indian restaurant I’ve been to , outside of London or Mumbai. The Lamb Biriani was divine! The Service was wonderful.

Food and service was outstanding the server and owner checked on us several times and my wife's expresso martini was excellent, can't say enough good things about the resturaunt. First time in Amsterdam and glad we found this place, highly recommended.
