Restaurants near Big Y Shopping Center

We made our first reservation for dinner at Hamley’s Oct. 22. We were very pleased with the service, wait staff and the food! The dining setting was relaxing and felt cozy. We will be back soon with friends!

Overall experience was excellent. Our waitress, Sunee, was enthusiastic and helpful, and she and her support staff provided excellent service. We asked for acquired your spot, and I believe it was, but it was still noisy. It’s hard for me to hear for others this might not matter. We brought our own wine and serving was handled well although we should’ve been asked if it should be open right away. Corkage was $20 with nice glasses. Our companions had the plank version of the halibut and they also thought it was very good.

Overall the food was quite good but for the price, having done other tasting menus including at a Michelin-rated restaurant, not the best I've ever had. Perhaps in response to past complaints about people leaving still hungry, some courses were too big, eg the vegetable and main. Presentation was generally beautiful and we really loved the atmosphere of the kitchen being open to the dining area. Chef Pete was lovely as he spent some time at the end of the meal talking to us.

Loved this wine tasting experience! The host was extremely knowledgeable with a lovely personality. He gave us a new experience tasting one wine in 3 different shaped glasses. The wine was delicious as we added a case to our cellar. We will return!
