Seasonal Local American Cuisine. We use many local products from local farmers. We are located about a mile west of the University of Virginia campus. Historic old home turned into a restaurant. Three small intimate dining rooms upstairs, one on the ground floor and a large weather protected patio. In the winter the Patio is heated. Family owned since 1995. Special diet needs met upon request.

    Great food— everything we ate was excellent. The shrimp cocktail was delicious and enough for 2… could have fed 3. The salads were good thanks to the in-house dressing ( vinaigrette and Caesar). Filet mignon and Chateaubriand were melt in your mouth tender with Bearnaise and Cognac Peppercorn sauces (the latter was especially good). And a lovely crème brûlée to finish was great! The house wines—Cab and Bordeaux were both very drinkable and paired well with our meal. A+ for service. Emily was outstanding, pleasant, funny and never in the way. Her pacing for the food was no less than perfect. We had an excellent meal and pleasant evening

    The evening was delightful from beginning to end. The crab and the tomato soups were delicious, the beef empanada divine and the entrees were superb. Salmon, pork chop and special fillet were fantastic. Deserts were similarly great. Can't say enough good things! A true gem of a restaurant!
