Opelousas Restaurants

Louisiana's third oldest city, Opelousas has big taste. Called the "Spice Capital of Louisiana," four national brands featuring spicy favorites are produced here. Opelousas also specializes in quicker Cajun fare like po'boys and boudin, a sausage stuffed with rice and spices. Other restaurants specialize not only in these local dishes but also char-broiled Angus beef. The town has dozens of restaurants, and many of have been family-owned for decades.
