Seating was on time and with a wonderful view of the lake and the hillsides covered in Autumn color. All of the waitstaff was very attentive, and our primary server was excellent. We go to the Hawkeye for special occasions, this time was for an anniversary, and our server brought us chocolates at the end of the meal - a very thoughtful touch. We will be back soon.

The food was excellent! We very much enjoyed our dinner. The drink menu was great. It took a little time to get our bill which seemed odd but overall an excellent experience we will definitely be back!

Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and 1909 didn’t disappoint. Husband is an executive chef and we appreciate and value quality in food and service . From Jean at the door , Osheen our server and Trey on his first day made our evening!

Excellent service and good. Brunch was exceptional as well as our server. The hotel is stunningly beautiful.

I purchased a gift certificate for my daughter and son-in-law for their first anniversary, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place! They had an incredible dinner at Matilda and absolutely loved everything; from the food and cocktails to the ambiance and wonderful staff. My son-in-law is a true foodie and very hard to impress. He rates every restaurant he visits and said that while he would never give a perfect score because he doesn’t know what “perfect” tastes like, Matilda would probably be it! He even ordered an extra dessert, which he never does! They both described their experience as perfection and couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved this place. Thank you, Matilda, for making their anniversary so special. I highly recommend it!
