It was a Tuesday evening business dinner, busy but not noisy. Everything was predictably good, especially the pistachio soufflé !

The food was good, setting slick, service attentive bar in connection with the wine. We ordered a Malbec, what showed up was a bottle of vinegar from Croatia. Usually French restaurants have passable wine, this was undrinkable. We asked the waiter to taste it, he declined and bought another Malbec, which was better but still not great, without reference to the first being vile. As a restaurant that puts so much emphasis on stylish and quality food, this let the experience down.
Brasserie Blanc Threadneedle StreetResponded on 25 May 2026
Hi Robert, Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like our waiter handled everything correctly, which is why we always allow guests the chance to taste wines to make sure it's the right one for them. It does seem like the first Malbec you tried simply wasn't to your taste, which can happen. I would say describing it as 'vile' and 'vinegar from Croatia' is a little unnecessary as we take great care selecting our wine list. We appreciate your thoughts and I'm pleased that everything else was satisfactory during your visit. Kind regards, Sam Redknap General Manager

Excellent venue with a nice modern and cozy interior upstairs in the booths. Mains were excellent but smallish. My trout was well cooked and flavourful. However my creme brulee was quite congealed and had a gelatinous texture akin to jelly rather than smooth cream and taste was average. Service was impeccable.

Hi Tony, Many thanks for your review and feedback - I'm pleased to hear that overall you had a positive experience with us. I have passed your comments regarding the creme brulee on to the kitchen team to review. Kind regards, Sam Redknap General Manager

The food was really tasty, arrived very fast (perfect for a business lunch) and reasonably priced. They were quite busy and seemingly a bit understaffed so the drinks, clearing the table, getting the bill etc. was too slow (but they were friendly). Noise levels were not too bad so we could have a sensible discussion.
