The food was fine, and the general service was good but the wine was terrible. We asked if we could check the bottle before our first choice of a Malbec was opened, it was only 11%ABV, but for the price I would’ve expected at least a 13% so we asked for a different wine. We chose a Montepulciano instead which tasted OK, however when we got to the end of the bottle there was a huge amount of sediment. I wouldn’t expect this from a bottle at that price point that had been stored properly (only much older wines should need decanting to ensure sediment is not transferred to a glass). We advised our server who took the glass and showed her colleagues two of whom were visibly horrified. Then the (new) Manager took the glass from her and came over to us immediately declaring that the wine is ‘supposed to be like that’, no apology, no pre amble, just the statement that we should’ve expected it! I don’t have a photo as the glass was taken away. After some discussion (while my food was getting cold) about wine storage and our expectations, an apology was grudgingly delivered and the wine removed from our bill. I’m a fairly frequent customer of Fratelli and I was really disappointed with the way this was handled by this lady who we hadn’t met before. There was no need for the attitude we encountered, without which we probably would have been content that we had alerted them to the issue, instead we felt the need to press on for an apology. The removal of the wine from the bill was welcomed but the experience has left a really bad taste from a restaurant we love. As we are local this won’t stop us visiting from time to time but we hope the restaurant review their wine list, ABV and pricing and that this was just a one off bad day for this new Manager!

Fratelli, is a lovely italian restaurant. The food was great and the tiramisu was to die for. It said homemade and it didn't disappoint. It was light and wasn't over powered by coffee liquor. The staff were warm, welcoming and very attentive. All of which made for a very pleasant evening.

Eaten here many times & all round a good dining experience. This time however, menus radically simplified & some favourites missing. Staff were friendly & helpful. On booking several weeks before, in 'special instructions' I messaged 'birthday supper for 8 year old'. A scoop of icecream with a candle would have been a lovely addition on the night but nothing forthcoming. Pleasant evening but not of it's normal calibre.

Took my family for a special gathering & we were not disappointed, it was a very enjoyable occasion. The food was splendid & the waitresses charming, efficient & helpful. I would certainly recomend.
