Originally opened in 1987, The Hidden Shamrock has a storied history as one of the oldest Irish pubs in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. After 27 fun filled years in business, The Shamrock underwent a massive renovation in summer 2014 and reopened in September as Lincoln Park’s first and only Irish Gastro Pub. Focusing on progressive pub food with clever Irish twists; The Hidden Shamrock is redefining Irish pubs in Chicago. The new menu is paired with a diverse, locally driven craft beer selection, classically inspired cocktails and a sophisticated yet approachable wine list. With two amazing bars, many great seats, and an awesome private party room, The Hidden Shamrock is a versatile place that breathes authenticity.

We made a reservation for Saturday night to watch the Cubs World Series game. The bar was jam packed but our table was ready and waiting :) Kara the bar tender/server was AMAZING and super attentive. Burgers were great as well as the Irish Nachos (fries)! We will be back!

We ended up having to miss this reservation but it would be unfair to not share how great of a venue Hidden Shamrock is. It's a great place to watch a game and hang out with friends!

Was told their open table system was scheduled to shut down that evening. Unfortunately we showed up and weren't offered a thing aside from a long wait and some angry stares from the crowd.

We made a reservation for 8 people on New Years Eve. We wanted to celebrate the holiday and a family member's birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant, the servers were setting up tables for a private event and were unable to seat us for normal dining. One of the servers got the manager who seemed totally unconcerned that the restaurant would be unable to fulfill its commitment to our reservation. He just shrugged and told us that he'd forgotten to update OpenTable. When asked for suggestions of where to take a party of eight people he did tell us about a couple restaurants in the area but otherwise did not do anything to apologize or make this inconvenience any easier for us. Finding a table for 8 people on New Years Eve is next to impossible so we just went next door to Trinity bar and ate bar food. Moral of the story: If you want to eat at a restaurant where the management is completely lackadaisical about its customer base, call the restaurant personally rather than use an online service. This review in no way reflects poorly on OpenTable. I've used this service many times without complaint. It was simply the failure of the restaurant management that was so disappointing in this experience.

We went with a group of 12 for dinner. There was a large group in the bar for the Baylor/KSU game. the manager and bartender worked hard to keep us served despite the crowd. Food was good, service was great.
