It was a really enjoyable experience, the piano musician really added to the ambience. It was a lovely treat and I would highly recommend it.
The atmosphere is lovely. The staff are very attentive and friendly however I think it is extremely overpriced for the food we got. I did not enjoy any of the four deserts and the sandwiches were average.
Love Afternoon Tea in Lord Mayor's Lounge. Fabulous surroundings in Shelbourne Hotel.Staff
lovely and very helpful.Fantastic experience.
The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend it for afternoon tea.
The wait staff were very accommodating after a mix up on the open table app with the times for changeover to the evening menu from afternoon tea. The cocktails were fabulous. A really lovely setting for a girly catch up.
I booked afternoon tea at the Shelbourne Hotel with my two sisters last Friday as a special Christmas treat. Our first impressions were good until we were led to our table which was suitable for 2 people definitely not 3 as the table wasn't big enough for all the crockery etc. Before we even sat down our waiter told us we had to vacate the table by 3.30pm which I felt was inappropriate timing and unnecessary. The food arrived and only consisted of 2 very small filled bagels, a sliver of brown bread with smoked salmon and a crustinI with a ham pate - that was the entire sandwich selection per person ! The scones despite being delicious were minature probably quarter size of a normal scone. The cakes were nice but by the time we got to taste them we'd lost interest. I had tea at the Ritz in London last year for the same price and it was falabous. The Shelbourne need to 'up their game' considerably. . €179.00 for 3 people and we left hungry !
We received a voucher for afternoon tea as a Christmas present, it was a really special way to start our Christmas shopping trip in Dublin.I would especially like to comment on the amazing servers who were attentive and helpful but not intrusive, especially a young lady called Roisin who came over to say hello as she recognised me from her secondary
school. The athmosphere was friendly, festive and relaxed and even though it was at maximum capacity it never felt it. Such a lovely treat.
The overall atmosphere was most enjoyable but unfortunately the afternoon tea itself was a little disappointing. Very festive theme to the decorating of the deserts but the botttom section of sandwich selection there was no flavors from it. Very bland. My other two friends with me all agreed the afternoon was very disappointing.
It was a once of treat not to be repeated unfortunately.
Wonderful afternoon, delightful staff, beautiful surroundings, excellent food,
I had booking changed to same time Friday which they didn't have in their system
We ended up eating in the saddle restaurant
I had to que for 23minutes to get a drink in the bar but the food was fantastic
It was quiet busy but the hotel seemed unable to handle the crowd and there was a lot of drunk people some falling around the place
Overall not a great experience for our first time in the shelbourne and it was for a special occasion
Brought my mam for her birthday and she can't stop talking about - well worth the money - I have dietary needs that were not made an issue - complete new menu was made to suit. Made you feel really special and was a great day
An elegant ambience with excellent service and fine food. I booked afternoon tea for two ladies as a treat for Christmas. Words do not describe or do justice for the experience they had. Excellent value for money.
Wonderful quality of service, even brought a special plate of macarons for my mum's birthday. Really nice intimate atmosphere, the pianist was brilliant and the music was at the right level- it provided a nice ambience, but wasn't too loud to the point where you couldn't hear anything. I'll definitely recommend here for afternoon tea to my friends!
Bland, rushed and way overpriced. Won't be back nor the tables beside us
We try teas all over the world, this is one of the best.
Our first stop on our first day in Dublin and we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and delicious time during Tea. Everything about our time there was wonderful and so worth making the effort for reservations.
I enjoyed the experience overall, but there were a few things that took from my experience. The main one was how the food was served, lovely as the presentation was it cut you off from those you were sharing the table with, also I would prefer more saviour items on the menu.
Bread/rolls not very fresh. Tea replenishing poor - tea tepid and weak. Tea/coffee pouring too intrusive - interrupting conversation. Server not too happy to replace tea with 'hot' tea.
Booked a table for Afternoon Tea for my mother's birthday. Staff were wonderful, food was delicious and the setting was very pleasant. A great afternoon and would recommend to anyone
We had a really lovely afternoon celebrating a birthday for our daughter - the food was excellent and beautifully presented - I particularly liked the very dainty scones - so much nicer than bigger ones. We like everything on our plates except the brioche with the egg mayo which was a tad dry. Other than that the rest was very tasty and extremely pretty to look at. Our tea was also delicious - we had the Whiskey Cream - very nice indeed with all the sweet treats. And the service was exemplary. I can't wait to go back!
Our experience of Afternoon Tea at the Shelbourne was outstanding. We were treated like royalty by the staff. As we were celebrating an 80th birthday we were given the best table in the house - just in front of the fire place which was perfect on a cold November afternoon. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Found the staff very friendly but also proffessional. The ambience was lovely, really enjoyed our time there and would thoroughly reccomend it
Amazing, impeccable service! We have already made another booking
Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy afternoon tea in a relaxed atmosphere. We were welcomed by a lovely young man who looked after us and explained the different choices of teas that were available to try. Nothing was too much trouble for him and we got to try out several teas. The choice of food available was good and we got to take home some delicious patisseries . The gentle music of the piano in the background added to the ambience and I look forward to a return visit soon.
My husband and I had a lovely afternoon tea here, the service was excellent and the selection of sandwiches and pastries was superb. Highly recommended!
Absolutely lovely treat to have Afternoon Tea at the Shelbourne, the food was great and the waiting staff were excellent and made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend!
Fabulous afternoon tea to celebrate a friend’s upcoming wedding! We had a lovely oval table with comfy chairs and the service was amazing! Lovely experience
Afternoon tea at the Shelbourne is an experience to be enjoyed and revelled in. Not something I’d do often as it feels like more of a treat.
Extremely tasty food and beautifully crafted. Tea selection was exceptional and the service was perfect.
Personally I would have enjoyed more savoury bites as there is an awful lot of sweet treats. Most people, including ourselves took most of the cakes home.
The Shelbourne Hotel is always a delight to visit. The atmosphere is fabulous.
The afternoon tea at the Shelbourne was wonderful, we felt as though we were taken excellent care of and weren't in any way rushed (even though we were the last people there, some three hours after we arrived). The food was delicious (we all loved the Halloween menu) and the tea selection was huge and varied, we all tried several options. There was even a special Halloween-themed cocktail (it was incredible). For the level of service, the price was well worth it.
The afternoon tea itself is beautiful but the 90 minute rule is too short and feels very rushed and that you are being pushed off the table.
We had a lovely meal at Lord Mayor's Lounge after a busy first day in Dublin. We were seated in cozy chairs near the fireplace. We enjoyed the smoked salmon appetizer and cocktails were spot on. The wine list was decent with enough variety to keep everyone happy. The Cesar salad as an entree was huge and the steak my husband had was delicious. Service was very professional and attentive. It was difficult to pick a dessert as they all sounded divine. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they sent a sweet surprise. It's always special to enjoy a quiet dinner in a historical hotel.
People make places and this is true of the staff in the restaurant. We had afternoon tea with an elderly relative who is unsteady on her feet. We arrived slightly early while they were still setting up. There were no seats left in the foyer, so the kind girl took us in and seated us anyway, even though they weren't really open yet . Service throughout was excellent, attentive and friendly. Food was lovely too. It was a trip down memory lane for my relative who used to socialise at the Shelbourne when she was a girl and fondly remembers dancing the night away in the 50's and 60's. Thank you to all the staff for looking out for us and making my lovely aunt feel so special.
I brought my big sister as a treat for her birthday. This was our first time and we both loved it. The staff were so kind and helpful . As we were seated we happened to say it was a treat for my sisters birthday to a lovely young lady and she later surprised my sister with a little cake and candles and had happy birthday played on the piano. Such a fabulous surprise. We will definitely be returning
The setting is beautiful and the staff are amazing, but the afternoon tea menu was disappointing. Very underwhelming, no value for money, and it was expensive as we went for the champagne option. I have been to the Lord Mayor's Lounge for the evening supper before and I would highly recommend that, but afternoon tea - no!
A lovely setting for a lovely treat. Nice attention to detail. Friendly staff. Very pleasant live piano music.
Absolutely fabulous afternoon with my family. The afternoon tea was so tasty. The staff were brilliant. So lovely and couldn't have done more for you. Just so nice and very professional! Amazing way to spend a special day.
The service was exceptional, just like everything else at the Shelbourne. The tea and champagne we're fantastic and the desserts to die for!
Wonderful food and very attentive staff. However the pianist was quite poor
While the staff were extremely nice & friendly, I thought the service could have been more efficient. We were waiting for servic, having to call the staff on a few occasions.
Lovely classy afternoon tea. Superb service with good humour. Very very impressed. Thanks to all concerned.
