The Lord Mayor's Lounge at The Shelbourne Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Great ecperience, food was wonderful. They catered for some tough dietary requirements, and the birthday macaroons were a great touch. Yhe selection of teas and service were 5 star. The only downside is when the bill came, staff were standing over the table while we put out the payment, and as we were splitting the bill it was a little awkward.
I enjoyed the afternoon tea with my friend but I was underwhelmed by the food and by the service. I had to request that my coat was taken to the cloakroom and different staff members served our table at random times hence breaking the continuity of the relaxing dining experience we had expected.
THIS IS AN ELEGANT HIGH TEA IN A WELL KNOWN DUBLIN HOTEL- THE SHELBOURNE. SUPERIOR SERVICE, EXCELLENT FOOD, YOUR CHOICE OF TEAS AND THE AMBIENCE WAS LUXURIOUS. NOT YOUR STANDARD MEAL BUT A ONCE-IN- A -GREAT WHILE EXPERIENCE. WORTH EVERY EURO.
The setting, food and staff were very good but you were left in no doubt that the clock was ticking. We did not get served until 14.20 and at approx 15.40 we were advised that our time was up and our food was taken away and put into boxes. It definitely took from the experience and with so many other options available in the city for a nice relaxed Aftternoon Tea I would be reluctant to recommend the Shelbourne purely for the time constraints.
Well what can I say. As expected of the Shelbourne it was stunning from start to finish staff could not do enough for us. We started in the bar with a cocktail and wine which was both served and delivered with elegance we asked to tag our bill onto the afternoon tea and when we were ready we were brought over to the Lord Mayors room where we were placed in a lovely space. The piano was playing and the food was both explained and delivered with such elegance and sense of occasion at the end of the meal a few bars of happy birthday rang out but not enough to put other folks off their occasion and slate plate was bought out to each table that was celebrating at the same moment. This is a place that I have always loved but I save it for special occasions simply because it is very special
Really enjoyed the experience of afternoon tea at the Shelbourne. The 'floral' theme shows a lot of thought went into designing the menu and the cakes were 'divine'. The service was outstanding with great attention to detail as well as being friendly. I would definitely recommend it, a great birthday treat or even just shared by friends.
The Shelbourne - Afternoon Tea :)
Myself and my partner were welcomed by Dalsasa ?(Hungarian Guy) he was so professional and friendly, also the ladies who were doing waitress were prompt and friendly too, we went for Afternoon Tea, the service was great, but i think 90 mins, too short 2 hours would be perfect!
I would definetly go again!
A thoroughly enjoyable day out was had at The Shelbourne hotel for Afternoon Tea. The service was excellent and complimented by the gorgeous food. So creative and indulgent, a real treat which I intend to make an annual event with my daughter and mum who also thought it was fabulous.
We had a lovely time but the staff seemed unsureally if the supper menu itself.we both had the steak with Bernaise sauce and triple cooked chips.
It arrived with pepper sauce.
The table beside us didn't receive chips until we requested chips with ours.
The manageress on duty was so attentive and efficient.
The musicl and song lovely.
I had afternoon tea 3 weeks ago and slightly preferred that experience
I would highly recommend afternoon tea at the Sherbourne, it was simply fantastic.we came for a very special treat for my daughters 16th birthday. The service was excellent, we felt so looked after by all the staff, they were very helpful, couldn't have done enough,we drank alot of tea!! The food was outstanding, beautiful delicate sandwiches, scones and pastries,we were so impressed, such a wonderful hotel, beautiful surroundings, atmosphere and spotless . My daughter loved her birthday plate and happy birthday played on the piano, lovely music too. Was worth every cent, will definitely be back and recommend to everyone.
Wonderful and tasty menu for Afternoon Tea! Elegant and a relaxing afternoon spent enjoying the great food, atmosphere and catching up with a friend. I will be returning to the hotel to enjoy such wonderful hospitality and service!
Always wanted to experience the afternoon tea. It was a lovely and reserved afternoon, I was not over excited with the sandwiches but the deserts were lovely. I had the regular tea and you could have as much as you wanted as the staff kept topping me up! The staff were very attentive to us and I felt they couldn't do enough. €90 for the afternoon is a bit pricey but that's the price you pay to experience the fine dinning at The Shelbourne!!
Excellent. Very good food and exceptional service. We went for afternoon tea with our twin baby girls. I was not sure initially that going with two young babies was a good idea, but the staff made every effort to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed, starting with a table with ample space for the buggy. The food was delicious and impeccably presented. I would definitely go back and recommend.
