We visited as a team of 10 people recently as recommended by our colleagues who live locally for a work get together - they were so right! The restaurant itself is fabulous and I would go there again! The service was impeccable, friendly servers and the food was delicious with generous portions. So reasonably priced and a good wine list too. I had the lamb chops. Highly recommend. Everyone's food came out together, everything was hot and well cooked. I had a birthday cake that was heart shaped and honestly the lightest, tastiest cake I've every tried!! So lovely and a great experience too. The decor made you feel like a celebrity! Great Insta pics in every corner of the place. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

When we started out in 2017, we were cheffing up from the courtesy of our home in Portsmouth. It was all great fun and games until customers started showing up to our house for food collections… From there, we took a leap of faith, and a few box meals later, we had our very own market stall on Commercial Road. This was big for us. It was the first time we could connect with the community on a 1:1 basis and actually see customers fall in love after that first bite. Naturally, the food did it’s job, and as word spread, our small gazebo became a local sensation, bringing people together over plates of smoky and spicy delights.
Spicing Up the Community
Since 2017, our "fambily" has been serving up a modern twist on Jamaican cuisine and the community has been our rock.
Come down to our 'Shack' in Portsmouth to experience where it all began and feel the vybez!

First time going and I was impressed! Great value for money. The food looked burnt but it wasn't, it was flavour! Everything was cooked perfectly and the meat was juicy and succulent. The flavour was fantastic. The staff were fabulous. I will be returning

Had a stunning meal on Friday evening. We all agreed this was the best steaks we had eaten in a long time. Staff were so attentive & very knowledgeable as 1 of our guests is a celiac & she was great. Had a live singer & she was very good & it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. Cant wait to return for the new winter menu. It’s only our 2nd time of eating here & have found our new local. Extremely happy with everything. Many thanks 🤩

We are an independent Kitchen & Tap House located in the heart of Southsea. Our name derives from Thomas Croxton, who built the first houses in the area around 1809. The area subsequently became known as Croxton Town, but in 1857 the town’s name was changed to Southsea, after King Henry’s Southsea Castle.

Located in the old Southsea Post Office we offer craft beer, cocktails, wine and spirits, along with award winning food inspired by our travels from around the world. Our Sunday lunch was awarded best in the region after a national search held by Unilever Food Solutions, and in 2024 we were voted “Best Casual Dining” venue in Hampshire & IOW as part of the regional and national awards hosted by Muddy Stiletto.

First time ever been there was last night me and my son come in we found you online and what I can say is the Shera platter for the two people was absolutely amazing. We couldn’t quite finish it all so we ended up asking for a takeaway box to take Home with us the service was top-notch lovely atmosphere highly recommend and can’t wait to visit you again.

Our server was very welcoming and accommodating. I was advised straight away of one item that wasn't available. Good selection on the menu at good prices, and some offers too. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. It was very quiet and a bit chilly, but it was early afternoon (between lunch and finner times), so I imagine the ambience would be better at other times. It didn't stop it from being a very nice family meal. Will definitely return

Red Dog Saloon is an Austin, TX Barbecue restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.
Barbecue grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smoldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavor, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.
