Ordered 3 beef, 1 chicken and 1 pork Sunday lunches, the beef wasn’t as nice as previous times but the other lunches were spot on. This won’t put us off from coming again as normally the lunches are beautiful.

We had a lovely time celebrating our son's 20th birthday. Having researched the afternoon tea options in York, I chose this place and was not disappointed: it is a beautiful spacious room that is not noisy and the food was excellent, especially the yorkshire pudding!

We went for lunch on Saturday myself & a friend. They had a wedding happening at the same time, so it was quite noisy, but that was fine by us, you would expect that. The young lady who served us was brilliant. She was under a lot of pressure what with wedding guests & diners, but she coped beautifully. A lovely setting, lovely food, and we were well taken care of by our waitress .

Our dining experience was lovely. The food was expertly prepared, tastefully presented and delicious. Our service was excellent; staff were attentive, but not obtrusive. The setting was decorated well and peaceful. The dessert, Honey Crème Brûlée was, by far, one of the best desserts we have had in a very long time. Loved the risotto and pork chop entrees.

Finally went for afternoon tea on the Countess of York! We visited on 11th Sept. It was wonderful, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! The regular staff member who usually does the afternoon tea service was unfortunately not able to be there, so responsibility fell to another staff member who was having to split his time between the afternoon tea service and the cafe area. Despite this, he was fantastic, very friendly and attentive!! I’m sorry that I didn’t get his name! We had a brilliant afternoon celebrating my dad’s 70th and will definitely be returning!
