Best Afternoon Tea Restaurants in Petersburg, Virginia

Our dinner at Floris was outstanding. We were greeted warmly by the staff and directed to our table upon entering the restaurant. The three course dinner menu was printed and on the table. Our server, Coleman, was efficient and attentive. The food came out in a timely manner and was not rushed at all. The food was simply fantastic. Fresh, seasonal vegetables and herbs highlighted the offerings and the special touches from edible flowers to the micro-garnishes made the presentation of all three courses special. You could see that great care and expertise were taken on all courses served. It would be hard to pick a highlight as they were all so good but the tomato and stracciatella salad and the corn custard with poached peaches were otherworldly. Even the okra starter was a revelation, and I will try to immolate this at home (to the best of my ability). Oh, and the agnolotti! I could eat the lemon drop chimichurri by itself. If you have not been to Floris, the space is special. I have been a member at the museum for decades and did not know of the tearoom/restaurant until this event. It is a hidden gem that will certainly get more attention with notable dinners like this. In conclusion, Coleman and team were perfection in terms of service, the chef and her team timed the courses perfectly, food was to temperature and the presentation was Michelin grade. This meal will not be forgotten and will bring fond memories.

The tea experience was excellent. Zach, our server, was knowledgeable in the five teas that were served. Zach also was patient and unobtrusive, just would check in to see if we needed anything. Never felt rushed. The food was excellent! Beautifully presented. It was a full experience of all five senses. Zach then played the piano, which was lovely.

The best afternoon tea with excellent service. We felt so pampered.
