Our server, Michael joined us almost immediately after we were seated. He mentioned that he was in his final night of supervised serving, being mentored by Ben. I have often taken this opportunity to shoo the mentor away and let the new guy work unsupervised. Our group have been dining together around the world for about 40 years, so we knew that we would have fun, he would get to show what he could do and relax with a friendly table. For the rest of the evening, I would shoo Ben away whenever he came by. It was great fun and they took it all very well. I had the lamb shank, my wife had the fish special. The other couple had the pasta and the steak. All of the food was superb, service was masterful (whenever Ben didn't hang around) and we will be coming back to this lovely, neighborhood gem.
