We hadn't been in some time so it was a real pleasure to find Chez Bruce at the top of its game as ever: food cooked to perfection, interestingly blended flavours, beautifully presented. While sophisticated, there is no over the top fuss with friendly but discreet service. It was a great birthday treat for my husband. And a plus for us - no piped music. This was lunchtime and moderately busy. Some might prefer more of a buzz.

Excellent service, delicious food which I’ll be thinking about for a while! Perfect atmosphere and a wonderful meal for my mothers birthday. Will be returning!

Despite being around for 25 years, the restaurant felt fresh and very well maintained. Service was excellent - warm and professional. The bread freshly baked with interesting twists. The food was beautifully served and delicious especially the cod+grains (main) and white chocolate Jerusalem artichoke (dessert). We went for a special occasion as did many other tables there amongst their regulars. The ground floor was nearly full (except for 1 table) and noise levels at times were a little loud when everyone was talking but did not affect our dining experience. Recommend this gem of a place and look forward to returning again.

Had a lovely lunch with the family. Menu had lots of options to suit all tastes but be warned, the portions are generous! After the first course and some bread to start, we ordered mains but with hindsight, should have gone for something from the lunch menu. That said we did manage to squeeze down some cocktails to finish.
