Restaurants near Cloud Gate

We had an unusual experience. We got stuck in the elevator going to the restaurant for at least 20 minutes while the engineers worked to get us out. When we finally arrived at the restaurant, we were treated like royalty, and the entire meal was comped for our troubles. That said, the food was good but the Machiato Noir dessert is so delicious, it's worth the trip even if you don't get stuck in the elevator and get your meal comped. The service was also excellent, and the setting is magnificent, especially on a beautiful fall day when the views are spectacular.

This was a fantastic experience. The ambiance and decor is so striking and the service was pitch perfect. The star here, though, is the food. The poutine included some of the yummiest pork I’ve ever eaten and my filet mignon with whipped potatoes was sublime. My family all partook in other dishes — the curry, chicken fried lobster, and fish and chips — all of them were hits across the board. I will absolutely be coming back.

The unusual menu selections were great. Our second visit on trips to Chicago. The papardelle and cacio e pepe were outstanding. Wine selection is great. To top it off, dessert of raspberry granita and peach gelato was heavenly. Noise level increased by the end of our meal, but was a fun atmosphere and still conducive to conversation. Best meal of our trip.
