Smith & Wollensky London is the New York steakhouse in the Adelphi Building, between Covent Garden and the river, a short walk from Charing Cross and the West End theatres. The signature 600g bone-in rib-eye leads the menu. All USDA Prime steaks are dry aged in house for 28 days and hand cut by our butchers, served alongside Irish, Australian and New Zealand cuts and Snake River Farms Wagyu. Seafood towers, lobster and oysters, an extensive wine list with a strong Californian focus and a full cocktail bar complete the offer, all served in a grand dining room. La Gamba is a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant on the Southbank Centre's Festival Terrace, two minutes from Waterloo station, between the London Eye and the National Theatre. Jay Rayner in The Observer called us "the answer to that infuriating question of where can I eat before a show at the Southbank Centre", and plenty of guests do exactly that, though just as many settle in for the whole evening. The menu moves through the tapas classics and a few of our own inventions: croquetas and patatas bravas, chistorra pintxos, albóndigas with manchego, gambas al ajillo, and paellas cooked fresh at weekends. There is cold Spanish lager on tap, fresh Sangria, and a well curated list of Spanish wines. We come from the family behind Applebee's in Borough Market, and we run La Gamba the same way: good produce, cooked well, served with warmth. Our terrace is one of the nicest spots on the Southbank to lose a sunny afternoon. Walk-ins always welcome.

    Shout out to the team at Wahaca for being absolute pros! They made sure we were super well cared for and at the same time that we had the right space to talk. They checked in without being invasive and they were nice and cheerful. It's an art, and these folks do have it! Food was great and we all fell in love with the blackberry sour. 10/10

    Ideal for pre-concert dining and a wonderful view to boot. The two- or three-course set menu offers great value, and the service is time-sensitive, so no need to worry about getting to the concert on time. Indeed, it’s just a short walk away. This wasn’t my first time at Skylon, and once again, it was a very positive experience, and who doesn’t like a soufflé? And everything is managed so seamlessly by Olga and her team Big shout out to Bee, who looked after us so well.

    Reserved table was in the perfect spot. Staff were friendly and welcoming, service was excellent and the pizzas were delicious. This restaurant is such a perfect place for a meal along Southbank.
