Arte Restaurant
$$$$•Italian•4.9(796)"Nestled on a quiet stretch of East 9th Street in the Village, Arté Restaurant is a timeless NYC hidden gem. Since opening in 1990, this Northern Italian ristorante has retained a cozy, homey ambiance that feels more like a welcoming family home than a restaurant. With crackling fireplaces, an intimate garden tucked in the back, and soft lighting, Arté exudes a warm, romantic charm. Long-time patrons know that here, you’re not just a customer — you’re part of the family. The menu sticks to classic Italian roots, with signature dishes like the Ravioli Aurora and old-school pasta and veal specialties. While the city around it has changed, Arte’s dedication to authenticity and genuine hospitality remains."886

Find the real Italian atmosphere in a cozy restaurant, where to eat only rice based Specialties and Risotto!
A unique gluten free experience, 100% made in Italy.
The first Risotteria Melotti was opened in Isola della Scala, in the region of VERONA, in 2002. The idea of opening a Risotteria in New York came in order to make this typical and traditional italian dish known and cooked by us, with the rice we produce and with the typical old style techniques used in Isola della Scala.Lavagna - NYC
$$$$•Italian•4.8(1,953)Lavagna opened its doors on February 1st 1999.The restaurant offers casual Italian trattoria fare at moderate prices. The vibe is candlelit, cozy, with an old wood burning oven, exposed brick walls, a pressed tin ceiling and a small wine bar where one can dine also. A wall of French doors swing open in the warmer weather to a seasonal sidewalk cafe of 20 seats.
The kitchen concept is to create dishes traditionally Italian, emphasizing fresh, seasonal ingredients and product of the highest quality.
The menu highlights include homemade pastas, a wood oven roasted fish for two, roast pork chop, baby rack of lamb and of course the rigatoni with sweet and spicy sausage that has become a classic over the years.
The wine list has been a yearly recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence since 2002 and it focuses on hard to find wines from regional Italy along with other international selections.

$$$$•Italian•4.8(1,611)This is the story of Paolo and Matteo, two guys from Milano who had an idea. Let's take the heart of our tradition and fuse it with the exciting innovations happening in Italian cooking, they said. Inspired by the Roman deity Janus who looked to the future as well as the past, Giano respects tradition and embraces the future. We like to think of our little corner in the east village as quite special, and hope you will too.

Il Cantinori
$$$$•Italian•4.8(2,372)Il Cantinori, located in Greenwich Village, has been at the forefront of Tuscan cuisine in NYC since its opening in 1983. This old farmhouse with a rustic warmth, stucco walls, wooden beams and voluminous floral arrangements is very romantic and elegant. We combine the unique traditional flavors of the Tuscan countryside with a complete seasonal lunch and dinner menu. We welcome guests with affectionate hospitality, daily specials and a wine list reflective of the northern Italian regions.Kabawa
$$$$•Caribbean•4.8(499)Kabawa, a deeply personal restaurant from Chef Paul Carmichael and Momofuku, offers a nuanced and distinct perspective on Caribbean cuisine. Built around a set menu with plenty of choices, it’s a place to take your time, enjoy a meal, and discover something new each time you visit.
Kabawa’s menu is a three-course, $150 prix fixe experience, exclusive of beverage, tax, and gratuity. The restaurant is divided between kitchen counter seating, an immersive experience with direct chef service, or more secluded table seating.
Structured to showcase the depth and diversity of Caribbean cuisine, our ingredients are thoughtfully procured, fusing local produce from neighborhoods right here in New York with specialty items sourced directly from the Caribbean.
Every touch point — from the custom mosaics to the ingredient sourcing to the instrumental music — is intentional, tapping into Chef Paul’s upbringing in Barbados to reflect the vibrant, welcoming spirit of a Caribbean home.
